Warning: This article contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again.

Wilson Fisk’s secret son has already been introduced to theMCUinDaredevil: Born Again, according to a wild new theory that connects perfectly to the originalDaredevilseries on Netflix. Vincent D’Onofrio’s return as Wilson Fisk in 2021’sHawkeyeseries was very exciting for the MCU, and this was developed brilliantly in Marvel Spotlight’sEcho, setting upKingpin’s return as Mayor of New York inDaredevil: Born Again. Wilson Fisk’s new political aspirations aren’tBorn Again’sonly focus, however, as his personal and family life is also under intense scrutiny.

Wilson and Vanessa Fisk’s marriageis going through a rough patch inDaredevil: Born Again, while Fisk is also still recovering from being shot in the face by his surrogate “niece,” Maya Lopez, inHawkeye’sfinale.Family has always been a sore subject for Wilson Fisk - he murdered his father as a child and lost his mother during a stint in prison - and this narrative will surely continue inDaredevil: Born Again. One new theory might have revealed exactly how this could happen, and suggests a hidden period ofWilson Fisk’s MCU historycould finally be explored.

One of the most popular theories concerningDaredevil: Born Againthat has persisted sinceThe Many Saints of Newarkstar Michael Gandolfini was cast in the revival series is thatGandolfini’s character, Daniel Blake, is actually Wilson Fisk’s son. There are huge periods of Wilson Fisk’s history that have never been explored in live-action, which means he could easily have a secret son in his 20s. Gandolfini and D’Onofrio share physical characteristics that could support this theory, and Daniel Blake’s apparent obsession with Kingpin reinforces it even further.

It’s very possible thatDaniel Blake could be the MCU’s version of Richard Fisk or even Byron “Butch” Pharris from Marvel Comics, Fisk’s children who each also had villainous careers, following in their father’s footsteps. Michael Gandolfini’s Daniel Blake certainly isn’t on a heroic path, as he has shown his admiration for Kingpin’s no-nonsense attitude and aggressive problem-solving methods. A new theory makes this idea even more poignant, however, as Wilson Fisk’s secret son could have been introduced far sooner had one dramaticDaredevildeath not occurred.

Wesley in Daredevil season 1

Wesley May Have Known About Daniel Blake Before Daredevil Season 1

Toby Leonard Moore Played James Wesley In Daredevil Season 1

The idea of Michael Gandolfini’s Daniel Blake being Wilson Fisk’s son has become a very popular one, but this is given a darker twist in a new theory shared byReddituser highdefrex. This theory suggests thatJames Wesley, Kingpin’s right-hand man and best friend inDaredevilseason 1, may have known about Daniel Blake’s existence, perhaps if Blake’s unknown mother had been attempting to reach out. Whether wanting to protect Daniel or Fisk himself, the theory suggests that Wesley covered up the kid’s existence and kept it hidden from Fisk.

Wesley seemingly knew more about Wilson Fisk’s life and history than anyone else, so it’s easy to imagine him being aware of a secret child and keeping this information hidden from his employer.Wesley was always fervently loyal to Wilson Fisk, but also loyal to Fisk’s grander plans, which the arrival of a child would have seriously disrupted. This would have certainly prompted Wesley to cover up Daniel Blake’s existence, meaning this would have become a secret that died with Wesley when he was killed byKaren Page inDaredevilseason 1.

Introducing Wilson Fisk’s Son Would Change Kingpin’s New MCU Story

Wilson Fisk’s Family Is Pivotal To His Development In Marvel Comics

Wilson Fisk has two children in Marvel Comics, Richard Fisk and Byron “Butch” Pharris, and the introduction of either to the MCU would be game-changing for Kingpin’s ever-developing storyline. Currently, Fisk feels completely alone in his plans to takeover New York and exact his own ideals on the vigilantes of the city. The arrival of a son may give him new purpose, however, spurring him on to make his schemes even bigger and more terrifying to ensure he leaves behind a formidable legacy for his child. This would make Daniel Blake one ofBorn Again’smost important characters.

Who Shot Kingpin Before Daredevil: Born Again & Why It Didn’t Kill Him

Before Daredevil: Born Again, Wilson Fisk’s Kingpin was shot point blank in the face in a previous MCU project (though he surprisingly survived).

Originally depicted as a villain, the Rose, Richard Fisk went on to become a Punisher-like vigilante known as Blood Rose, though he also did a brief stint operating with the Kingpin mantle during his father’s absence. Butch Pharris also became the Kingpin in Marvel Comics, and much more recently, so it’s very possible thatDaredevil: Born Againcould have introduced a character being set up to usurp Wilson Fisk’s throne and assume his moniker. This would create new conflict for Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, and it would be amazing to see this revelation come to light.
