Summary

Over the course of its nine-season run,Chicago Medhas lost many original cast members, includingYaya DaCosta as April Sexton, an ED nurse at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. The actressstarted playing April duringChicago Fireseason 3(as she was sort of dating Taylor Kinney’s Kelly Severide at the time) before joining the second spinoff intheOne Chicagouniverse. April and Severide were old high school friends who struck a connection. However, their fling wasn’t destined to last, and April was next seen inChicago Medseason 1, episode 1, as one of the main characters.

Dominic Rains is the latestChicago Medactor to leave the show as his character, Crockett Marcel, will not return in season 10.

DaCosta appeared in 122episodes ofChicago Med,which covers the first six seasons and her guest appearance in season 8. As any fan knows, April’s presence was significant at Med, as proven by her history on the show. So, it was devastating to learn that DaCosta wouldn’t return for season 7, especially given the various other cast exits that preceded and followed her. Now that April, Will Halstead, Natalie Manning, Sarah Reese, Connor Rhodes, and Ethan Choi are all no longer working at Med,only three originalChicago Medstars remainas the show heads into its tenth season.
