ESRB’s Leak Seems To Indicate King Frederick Is In Civilization 7

Frederick II, better known as King Frederick the Great, has been almost entirely confirmedto becoming toCivilization 7through theESRBrating, as reported bySI.Quoting an in-game description, the King has been openly named withinCivilization 7’s rating summery: “Friedrich cultivated a court where he could express his sexuality – if not entirely openly, at least in private." As this King is generally considered by historians to be homosexual, the game of course mirrors the truths of what was known.

With homosexuality being a taboo subject in Prussia during the time of King Frederick’s rule,he instead set up an inner circle of well-educated men to explore his desires outside of the public eye. Despite attempting to keep his private matters behind closed doors, it was widely known that he was having intimate relationships with men in his court. As an absolutist ruler, it’s exciting to consider what King Frederick the Great will have to add inCivilization 7.

Russian Queen Catherine the Great Is A Leaked Civ 7 Leader

Queen Catherine Is Known For Her Sexual Politics

As one of the few women that Frederick considered in high regard,it seems likely that Russia’s Queen Catherine the Great is the second leaderthat the ESRB rating has singled out. While the quote associated with her is more debatable, it’s still certain that it could apply to her as well as other possible leaders too:“Her internal rule was a strange series of sexual politics. She would often appoint her lovers to high-status positions.”As a Queen of foreign origin, it’s not surprising that Queen Catherine would need to establish a political body that was on her side.

As Catherine is known for some of her sexual escapades, it’s no surprise thatthis Queen had roughly 22 male lovers throughout her lifetime, many of whom were much younger than herself. These lovers were also known well for reaping the political benefits of their relationship with her, though she always held the true power when playing them against each other to hold her own position without challenge. While it’s still uncertain whether this description is definitely hers, Queen Catherine seems very likely to be making a return inCivilization 7.
