They Are On The Ship And Headed To Yvaga

As theAlien: Romuluscast is attempting to escape the Weyland-Yutani space station at the end of the film, theblack goo (also known as Prometheus fire) changes hands several times. It’s Official: We’re Never Getting An Answer To Prometheus' Biggest Unresolved Mystery

Prometheus set out to answer some major questions posed by the original Alien movie, but it’s increasingly clear that they’ll remain mysterious.

Although Rain’s battle against the monster is epic, it does distract from the fate of the black goo vials. By the end of the events of the film, the last samples of the black goo are still on Rain’s ship, with them heading to the planet Yvaga. Although the fate of these black goo vials is left unresolved by the end ofAlien: Romulus, the fact that Rain still has them could play a massive role in the franchise’s future, opening up even more mysteries that the series needs to address.

Why Rain Didn’t Destroy The Vials

She Could Have Left Them On The Space Station

The vials of black goo are clearly dangerous, with them being behind much of the conflict inAlien: Romulus, raising the question of why Rain didn’t destroy them. Since the black goo has shown a propensity for creating dangerous monsters, it would make sense for Rain to destroy them upon escaping the space station. However, it isn’t known if the black goo can even be destroyed.PrometheusandAlien: Covenantshowed that anything that interacts with the black goobecomes mutated, and if Rain tried to destroy it, this could have happened to her too.

Another option would have been forRain to simply leave the black goo vials on the space station as it crashed. However, Rain and the gang were clearly in a crunch for time while trying to escape, and she may not have had enough time to leave the ship with the vials one more time. On top of that, Rain keeping the vials means that Weyland-Yutani have no way to recover them from the wreckage, keeping them out of the evil corporation’s hands.
