Warning! This article contains spoilers for Severance season 2, episode 6.
Severanceseason 2, episode 6’s ending saw Reghabi implementing a new Reintegration technique, resulting in an uncertain future for Mark. Since her introduction in season 1, Reghabi has been one of the more interestingcharacters ofSeverance’s cast. Not only does Reghabi have mysterious ties to Lumon that are still not entirely clear, but she was the pioneer ofSeverance’s Reintegration process, which blends the minds of the show’s Innies and Outies.

Of course, this has been a big storyline ofSeveranceseason 2 via Mark’s decision to Reintegrate. InSeveranceseason 2, episode 5’s ending, Mark began seeing more flashes of Gemma as Ms. Casey from the memories of his Innie, which continued in episode 6. Frustrated by the length of the Reintegration, Reghabi began coming up with ideas to speed up the process and finally complete the collision ofSeverance’s Innie and Outie personalitiesfor Mark. The result of this was Reghabi “flooding” Mark’s severance chip, leaving the episode off on a huge cliffhanger.
What Reghabi “Flooding” Mark’s Chip Really Did In Severance
The Flooding Process Is Fairly Straightforward
Concerning what Reghabi exactly did to Mark, the word “flooding” is quite self-explanatory. Using the hole that was already drilled into Mark’s skull by Lumon to plant the severance chip, Reghabi used a needle filled with a brownish liquid. She stuck the needle into Mark’s skull to find the chip, eventually releasing the contents of it and literally flooding it using the liquid.
As alluded to, the purpose of this was to speed up Mark’s Reintegration process. Whether the specific liquid itself counteracted the chip or whether it was more a case of any liquid damaging the chip remains to be confirmed, but the intended outcome was the same. In damaging or weakening Mark’s chip that is responsible for severing his memories, both sides of his brain would come together much quicker. This proved to be the case, with Mark beginning to remember his Innie having sex with Helly R from earlier in the episode, mere seconds after Reghabi finished the process.

Why Mark Started Having A Seizure After Reghabi Flooded His Chip
He Did Not Take Proper Care After The Procedure
AlthoughSeveranceseason 2, episode 6 proved that flooding the chip worked by showing Mark having memories from the severed floor, the euphoria did not last. Mark’s last scene in the episode shows him having a seizure, with Devon and Reghabi worrying over his body. The reason for this was Mark’s inability to listen to Reghabi’s instructions. The latter told the former to keep his head still and listen to her, which Mark did not do.
Devon was the catalyst for this, as she began banging on Mark’s front door shortly after Reghabi flooded his chip. Mark, knowing he could not avoid his sister, answered the door and tried to act normal. In ignoring Reghabi’s actions, Mark likely messed up the flooding process by moving his head around too much, causing the seizure. What becomes of Mark is unclear, with the answers to his fate - and, indeed, whether the flooding will leave him fully Reintegrated - expected inSeveranceseason 2, episode 7.
