Lori Lemaris made her debut in Bill Finger and Wayne Boring’sSuperman#129 (1959), where she and Clark first met as students at Metropolis University. Despite their breakup, Lori and Clark remained friends, and she has since become a recurring figure in Superman’s stories.

Batman / Superman: World’s Finest#35 also offers its own recap of Lori and Clark’s shared history, with Batman explaining to Robin that Lori is a telepathic mermaid from Tritonis who briefly dated Clark years ago. Now, however, Lori is married to King Ronal. While Lori and Clark are clearly delighted by their reunion, King Ronal seems less enthusiastic about the arrival of Superman, Batman, and Robin.
