Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2frustrated nearly its entire community with the release of the 4.0 Patch that managed to make even the easiest game mode much harder, butSaber Interactive has listened to users' feedback. After observing an unusually high success rate on even the most challenging settings, the developer attempted to rebalance the scales with an update that significantly increased the spawn rate of enemies in Operations, resulting in more frustration than anything else. Fortunately, players looking to once again enjoy feeling like a burly Space Marine can now do so without constantly being in danger.
Posting toSteam, Saber Interactive explained that it missed the mark with theSpace Marine 2balance update, noting thatthe 4.1 Patch, which goes live on October 24, reduces the spawn rate of Extremis enemies on Minimal, Average, and Substantial difficulties. Moreover, those who choose to play on Ruthless will also encounter far fewer Extremis enemies. The tweak is designed to ensure that theSpace Marine 2power fantasy is still possible on lower difficulties, removing some of the intensity and stress that many players didn’t want to experience.

Making Space Marine 2 Better For Everyone
It’s Not Just About Enemy Spawns
Beyond reducing the amount of Terminids swarming the player,Saber has also broadly improved all Bolter weaponssince they’ve all been underperforming. The list of buffed guns includes:
Those are some substantial improvements, made all the better by player armor being increased by 10% on Ruthless difficultyto ensure users canbetter withstand the Xenos hordes. The Tight Formation perk has also been removed after players complained that it was too restrictive andlimited classes like Assault and Vanguardby forcing them to stick too close to their teammates.

Those who prefer to play single-playerare also in luck as Saber Interactive has noted that friendly AI is certainly lacking. Many fans have complained that bot teammates can feel ineffective, especially when going up against tougher enemies or boss fights.Patch 4.1 now allows bots to deal a whopping 30% more damage to bosses, which should make them far more impactful on the battlefield.
There’s One Huge Way Space Marine 2 Improved Over Its Predecessor
Space Marine 2 has proven to be everything fans wanted by evolving a number of key features from its predecessor, and this is seen in one notable way.
Screen Rant’s Take: These Are Great Changes
This Is How A Game Should Be Balanced
What I love most aboutWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2is how Saber Interactive is so responsive to its audience. After a large amount of negative feedback, some of it necessarily vocal, the developer was able to acknowledge its mistake and implement some changes to make the game better for everyone. That kind of dedication to players is rare these days, and I’m sure the community is incredibly supportive of Patch 4.1; If anything, this is a great sign for the game’s future.
