Today’s Connections Category Hints

Avoiding traps and staying away from distractions is the best way to handle anyConnectionspuzzle. To that end, there are a couple of potential distractions here, but it is easier to avoid if you are looking at the right information instead. In helping you focus on the right parts of the puzzle, we have four clues for you to guide you in the direction you need to go.
9 Helpful Tips To Beat The Password Game (& 1 Useless One)
The Password Game can be frustrating as it uses complex mechanics that can be difficult to figure out, even with help.
If those clues were not enough, there are other ways to steer you on the path to victory. The first of which will beall four category namesshown in the table below to help you determine where the words fit best.

SMART
WISE
I solved this one last and I genuinely do not think I would have put these four words together even knowing the category name. Perhaps I would have eventually, but I’m not sure I have heardall of these words in a “sassy” context before. I have heard WISE and SMART in phrases where I would connect those dots. CUTE and FRESH sort of ring a bell, but that is not my first instinct concerning those words and I wouldn’t have put them in that category, at least not without way overthinking it first.
MOOD
QUALITY
QUALITY does fit in this category, but I feel like it is a little more awkward here than the other words. FEELING, AIR, and MOOD all make sense together, although I did not see it right away.I tunneled in on the harder categories first today, but once I got to this category, it was easier for me to see this grouping than it was the “easiest” one. Even then, I was not certain that my guess would be correct, but fortunately today it was.

Strands is one of New York Times' many puzzle games that consists of a unique 6x8 word search that requires players to use zig-zag solutions.
LUX
MOLE
When my puzzle first loaded, FRESH PRINCE BEL AIR was the first row I saw and I did laugh a little. It was also too easy, and I figured it was meant to be a distraction. Looking around, my eyes settled on LUX, which I am more familiar with in other languages. However, it is a measurement of light, and I was fairly certain MOLE might be a measurement too. Looking around, BAR and BEL were the only other likely candidates, and it turned out I was right aboutall of these words being measurements.
RASCALS
TRAMP
Somehow, I solved this category second, although it was not because I knew exactly what was going on. Rather, with BEL gone, these were the only nouns left that could mean people and they were alsoall something that featured in children’s animation. It shows that sometimes your instincts are right when your reasoning is wrong with these puzzles. Ironically, TRAMP here is actually referencing a much older Charlie Chaplin film and not the cartoon. A film that is really titledThe Trampmost often and only occasionally referenced with “little,” as I found out.

Once you, like me, have decided whether it was cheating to use a title that is not actually used in practice for a film in today’s puzzle, you can move on totry one of the other puzzles listed below.
