Today’s Connections Category Hints
JANUARY 26 #595
The tricky spots of this puzzle are mostly due to the issues with the purple category making things more difficult than desired. However, there are also some words that I wouldn’t have put in the same category that ended up there anyway, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, here are the usual four clues to help you figure out what words are in which category:

If you still need help with the categories, the names of each one are in the box below. If you need help with the answers, the full spoilers are below that.

GATHER
HUNT
This category was the first one I got and felt okay once I knew what I was looking for. FARM looks like it could go with other words here, and so did GATHER. However,my archeology senses were tingling when I also saw HUNT, and it felt confirmed once I also saw FISH. It was by no means certain, but it was worth it to give it a shot. Luckily, it paid off this time, and at least I am using my experience to help me win. And everyone told me it was useless!
SEPARATE
SILO
This one I had a bit more trouble with. I had CLOISTER, SECLUDE, and SEPARATE highlighted together with several other words several different times. GATHER was in here for a moment, even though it was the opposite of that. I had to look upif SILO could be used in a more action-oriented sensebecause I had it with FARM for a moment. As it turns out, SILO can be used in another sense. Luckily, it was correct, and I was able to move on from this category.
10 Best Connections Tips, Tricks, & Strategies
Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.
TRACTOR
TRAILER
This is where the puzzle got more complicated, and I wasn’t sure what the last two categories would be. I even guessedsome combination of TRAILER, TRACTOR, and HITCH but got the guess wrong. I really thought AXLES might belong with BALLY as a sports name that I was unfamiliar with, so I tried looking up athletes with those names and came back empty. I tried the same combination of words and added in AXLES and got it right the second time. It was weird though, as I don’t think I was given the “One Away” clue the first time.
PROMO
RAVEN
I had no idea what the category would be when I entered in the last guesses, but I wasn’t surprised there were spelling shenanigans.DISCOG made me think something was going on, as it could be a number of things cut short or just too long. That being said, BALLY did confuse me for a while, and RAVEN did as well. At least I was able to get there in the end without too much trouble. My streak is going fairly well, at the moment, which meansConnectionsis likely to put out a very difficult puzzle soon.
