If today’sConnectionspuzzle is being a bit of a bear, there are many ways to overcome that challenge and scare that bear away. There are a confusing mix of various words today, although I personally found yesterday’s puzzle to be a bit more difficult. However, I also got quite lucky on this one which I will explain in the hints below. To help you get lucky too, here is everything I know about the puzzle and how you can overcome it.

If you need a break fromConnections, you should try out theNYT’sTilespuzzle. Not only is it very different fromConnections, but it is also completely image-based,no words necessary! You will only need your matching skills to ace this puzzle, and you will be able to walk away with a slightly less exhausted brain if thinking about every possible definition tends to make you as tired as it does me. For me, it is nice to take a break, wind down, and have some fun matching puzzles while waiting for my brain to process.

HANDLE

SHOULDER

This one was the second category that I was able to HANDLE today. I do love using all of these words as you can likely tell, but none of them are my favorite word in the puzzle. I think SHOULDER is also the biggest red herring in the category,as there are arm-related words in other categories as wellThis makes it a little difficult, but nothing too crazy.

CROOK

ELBOW

Corners are a lot of fun and peeking around them is one of the best skills I have gained since starting to play video games more often. There are plenty of options - round, squared, acute, sharp, wide, etc. However, this category chooses to use different words.ELBOW is again a bit of a misdirect, even with the next category as well. CROOK might also be deceiving, but I think it is less likely to belong anywhere else, which is evidenced by the fact that I got this one first.

10 Best Connections Tips, Tricks, & Strategies

Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.

PIPE

SPINACH

This one is where I was able to have a small advantage which was mainly that my grandpa loved the Popeye cartoons. Additionally, it is fresher on my brain than just that, as I took an Animation History class in the past year.Seeing ANCHOR and SPINACH was the big clue, particularly when I saw PIPE. I think ELBOW could possibly go here as well, but FOREARM fits better and it is clear that the former fits better with the rest of the corners. In my head, it wasn’t necessarily his FOREARM that got super big, but memories are weird.

FIELD

Lastly, I don’t think I would have gotten this one, but I also didn’t look at any of these words ahead of time. That’s usually a good sign that they belong togetherif they don’t appear to go with any other group of words. They are more distinct than usual today as well, as sometimes there is a trick word or two, but today they just seem like they don’t belong in the puzzle at all. That said, all of these do make sense upon seeing them and the category name.
