InScream 3, Sidney, Gale, and Dewey find themselves targeted by a third wave of the Ghostface killings – the twist being that, on this occasion, murderer Roman Bridgerwas acting alone. Given the complexity of his crimes, this situation has always confused some fans. However, one fan theory potentially explains how Roman was able to succeed as perhaps the most ambitious killer in the franchise to date.
Roman’s unmasking in theScream 3endingis a dramatic moment that immediately raises questions. The number of attacks featured in the movie, as well as apparent logical inconsistencies, suggests that – whatever the finale suggests – Roman was never just a solo operator. One theory suggests that not only did Roman have help, but that his accomplice was none other thanthis accomplice is none other than Angelina Tyler, the actress playing Sidney Prescott in theStabmovie. Despite her seemingly innocent personality, there’s plenty of evidence on-screen and behind-the-scenes to back up this claim.

Angelina Tyler Was Originally Supposed To Be The Second Ghostface Killer
The Early Scripts Saw Angelina As Roman’s Accomplice
The biggest piece of evidence for Angelina being Roman’s accomplice is that it was in the originalScream 3story. Initial drafts forScream 3saw Angelina Tyler written to be the second Ghostface killer, and some reports say that the change to make Roman the sole Ghostface killer of the film came very late in production. The crew even filmed the opening kill with multiple takes, one with one killer and another with two.
HavingAngelina as a Ghostface killer would have made the character a lot more interesting, as well as explaining some apparent inconsistencies with her character. Angelina’s nice façade came across as very fake. It almost seemed as though she had something to hide – an issue that the movie never satisfyingly resolved. Confirming her as one of the killers would both have explained this undeniable awkwardness and made Roman’s big reveal a lot more realistic, as it seems impossible for him to have orchestrated all the attacks.

One Theory Suggests Roman Killed Angela To Get All The Credit
Roman Would Have Wanted All The Credit For Himself
Although the movie seems to rule out Angelina being a killer, one internet theory explains how she can canonically still be Roman’s accomplice. The theory suggests that she was Roman’s girlfriend, and they planned theScream 3together, but Roman killed her to take all the credit for himself. This theory would make the most sense, asit would have been difficult for one person to achieve everything Roman did by himself.Even Kirby references this inScream 6,giving kudos to Roman for his ambition, as he had been the only Ghostface to work alone.
Angelina was impressionable as she slept with Milton to get the lead role in the Stab movies.

Murdering Angelina would suit Roman’s character and motivations really well. His narcissism would have demanded that he get all the credit, leaving little room for a sidekick. Beyond this, he is manipulative enough to have compelled Angelina to join him. He influenced Billy Loomis to commit the horrific acts inScream. It’s not unreasonable to suggest thathe could have pulled a similar trick with Angelina, even though the movie never confirms it.
Angelina Could Still Be Alive
The Character’s Death Could Have Been A Trick
Another popular fan theory is that Angelina wasn’t actually killed in the final act ofScream 3.Instead, she was spared by Roman, and her death was just a red herring, like what Billy and Stu tried to do in the firstScreammovie. The piece of proof that sparks this theory is theScreamtrilogyDVD box set. The box set comes with a list of all the victims of all three movies. However,Angelina is not listed. It wouldn’t be the first time a character was presumed to be dead, just to come back in a futureScreaminstallment.
Matthew Lillard’s Scream 2 Cameo Explained & How It Set Up Stu’s Return
Matthew Lillard returned to Scream 2 for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo. But it is unconfirmed whether he was reprising the role of Stu Macher.
Kirby Reed was stabbed inScream 4,and viewers believed her to be dead for 12 years until she was brought back again inScream 6. So, it is possible that Angelia survived her attack inScream 3and is still out there, waiting to return and strike again in the future. Whether she returns or not, these theories provide some insight and explanation as to why Angelina’s character felt so underdeveloped and how Roman was able to carry out all the attacks single-handed.
