In an interview with David Brooke ofAIPT, King and Sampere discussed upcoming developments in the story with this monumental fourteenth issue right around the corner. We’ve kind of cleared our throat with these first 14 issues, and now it’s time to get down to business to write, hopefully, the most epic Wonder Woman story of all time.

These backups take place in a potential future and follow Trinity as she partakes in wacky hijinks alongsideJon Kent and Damian Wayne, who act as older brother figures to her. Now, though,Trinity will finally make her debut in the main DC Universe, and Wonder Woman’s life is about to change as she becomes a new mother to a daughter who’s already shown her boundless potential as the hero Trinity.

Lizzie Prince, the daughter of Wonder Woman, is getting her own solo series as Trinity, and with it may come answers about the nature of her origin.
This isn’t the first time Wonder Woman has had a child, believe it or not. InJustice League#27 by Bryan Hitch and Fernando Pasarin, Wonder Woman discovers she has a son in an alternate future. Moreover, her Earth-2 variant hasa daughter with Steve Trevor. This new take on Wonder Woman as a mother is already proving to have a major impact, though, because it’s a core part of her story within the main DC Universe.Wonder Woman will raise Lizzie Prince from infancy,as opposed to her being a grown child from another world. As such, this massive change to Wonder Woman’s status quo is unlike anything that’s been done before.

The Sovereign May Be Involved in Trinity’s Origin
In the interview, King goes on to tease a potential connection between Trinity and the Sovereign,Wonder Woman’s new villain, who’s proven to be one of the greatest threats Diana has ever faced. Wielding thepower of his Lasso of Lies, the Sovereign has brainwashed and tortured Diana in an attempt to break her down, yet Wonder Woman overpowers him through sheer will. Though King shares thatthe Sovereign’s story will come to an end inWonder Woman#19, there is still plenty to be explored with this formidable foe until then, judging by his impending role in the rise of Trinity.

There’s no telling what Trinity’s connection to the Sovereign will be within this story, but they’ve already crossed paths in another. In the Trinity story fromWonder Woman#800, Lizzie, joined by her versions of Superman and Batman, seeks out the Sovereign to get answers about her origin. The narration in the currentWonder Womanseries is him recalling that tale to Trinity during their encounter, which proves that the story ofWonder Woman’s fight against the Sovereign is directly related to the birth of her daughter in some way.

The synopsis forWonder Woman#14 hints that Steve Trevor will die, andthe folded American flag - a tradition for military funerals - pictured next to baby Lizzie in Sampere’s variant coversuggests that Steve’s death will coincide with the birth of Wonder Woman’s child.

The question on most readers' minds when it comes to Trinity is who her parents are. While Wonder Woman is her mother, there’s a chance she’s her adoptive mother. It’s possible that Trinity will be made of clay the way Wonder Woman was. Another theory is that she’s thebiological daughter of Emelie, a fellow Amazon who’s pregnant. If that’s the case, it’s still unclear who Trinity’s father will be.Steve Trevor is the most likely candidate, given his prevalence in the story. This possibility would make him dying right as Trinity is born even more tragic, as he wouldn’t get to meet his own daughter.
