In an interview withKCUR 89.3, Chock explained why he thought that Pascal called him a stalker. During the bowling group date, Chock and Joan spent a lot of time together. He shared thateventual runner-up Guy Gansert asked him if he could have some with Joan, and he replied,“Absolutely,“and he walked awayand let him have the time. Chock admitted that he didn’t know"if that was really portrayed — I can’t tell you the accuracy.”

Chock explained that his fellowGolden Bachelorettesuitor Jonathan Rone “really helped me understand that scene, where Jonathan goes, ‘This is the first time we saw Joan with somebody that really was a couple.'” As a result, the other men didn’t like how the situation was unfolding. Several of them “had feelings for Joan,” so for them to see her and Chock at the “next level” of their relationship, it really “bothered them.”

Guy (Gansert) did come up to me and he said, “Hey, can I have some time with Joan?” I said, “Absolutely,” and I walked away (and let him have the time). So, I don’t know if that was really portrayed — I can’t tell you the accuracy. … Jonathan (Rone) really helped me understand that scene, where Jonathan goes, “This is the first time we saw Joan with somebody that really was a couple.” And I think that’s what they didn’t like. Because there were some guys that really had feelings for Joan and to … see us really at that next level of the relationship — I can’t speak for them, but I think that’s what bothered them.
