Now thatArcanehas concluded with its second and final season, everyLeague of Legendschampion within the show has been revealed, as have their powers and abilities. As a prequel series exploring the backstory of many playableLeague of Legendscharacters,Arcanewas uniquely suited to redefining how the various champions would grow into the versions of themselves longtime players were familiar with. The show began making more drastic retcons as it progressed, withArcaneseason 2’s endingapparently establishing anewLeague of Legendscanon.

Many champions inArcanestill line up fairly well with theirLeague of Legendscounterparts, from their basic backstory to their special abilities. Other characters were given new powers to work with, while other champions were created exclusively for the show. Comparing the powers and abilities of these champions inArcaneandLeague of Legendsoffers a fascinating glimpse into the creative differences between each project. It also demonstrates howfutureArcanespinoffsmay take a similar approach or make their characters stray further from their roles inLeague of Legends.
13Ambessa Medarda
A brutal warrior and weapons expert
A Noxian general keen to manipulate Piltover into war for personal gain, few could match Ambessa Medarda’s exceptional fighting prowess. She is a master of several kinds of weapons and a brilliant military tactician, occasionally wearing specialized gear designed to repel arcane-based attacks. Like inLeague of Legends,Ambessa is particularly skilled with her twin drakehounds, though in the game she can actually build up damage with multiple attacks. Her other game-exclusive abilities include gaining a shield, increased speed, and a near-instant leap to surprise and overwhelm an enemy.

12Caitlyn Kiramman
Sharpshooter and hand-to-hand combat
Despite being born into a powerful family, Caitlyn found her calling in law enforcement, dedicating her time to becoming an expert marksman and brilliant detective. Her abilities with any firearm are unmatched inArcane, and she receives a hextech upgrade in season 2 that makes her even more deadly. This is also her primary role inLeague of Legends, though the nature of the game means she doesn’t have a chance to exercise her deductive skills.Caitlyn’s in-game abilities include scoring a headshot, springing a trap that temporarily stuns opponents, firing a heavy net, and setting up a perfect shot.

11Ekko
Time travel and high-tech gear
A gifted prodigy at a young age, Ekko put his technical skills to work making a haven for those affected by crime and poverty in Zaun. While he developed hoverboards, specialized weapons, and more, his most impressive achievement was a device that could rewind time by a few seconds, giving him an advantage in a fight.Arcaneseason 2 establishes four seconds as Ekko’s limit, just like his game counterpart inLeague of Legends. He can also slow down enemies, split the timeline, and warp reality, all of which were explored to some extent inArcane.

10Heimerdinger
Brilliant inventor and gadget expert
While not a fighter inArcane, Professor Cecil B. Heimerdinger is one of Piltover’s most talented inventors. He helps other characters by putting his mind to various scientific and arcane-related problems, from aiding Ekko’s haven to helping him return to his own dimension.InLeague of Legends, Heimerdinger has several abilities that make him ideal for combat, including speed, turrets, hextech rockets, and upgrading his equipment. The lack of violence from Heimerdinger inArcanemakes him stand out the most from his character inLeague of Legends.

9Jayce Talis
Hextech specialist and incredible strength
Jayce Talis defied the wishes and expectations of his academic peers by developing hextech, which he eventually used to create a special war hammer for himself.Arcanecaptures Jayce’s brilliant mind combined with his incredible strength, able to invent new gear and wield it himself in battle. While the show primarily has him use his trademark weapon, he does have the ability to swap weapons inLeague of Legendswhile gaining more speed. He can also leap toward enemies, create a field of lightning, and increase his armor and magic resistance.

8Jinx / Powder
Explosions and shimmer-enhanced abilities
Jinx’s chaotic mind and unhinged personality make for a deadly combination when paired with her specially crafted weapons. Although not initially as good a fighter as others around her,Jinx developed incredible agility and gained enhanced speed when shimmer was permanently infused into her bloodstream.InLeague of Legends, she has a shock pistol called Zapper for slowing down enemies, Flame Chompers that bite enemies, and a Super Mega Death Rocket, reminiscent of her attack on the Piltover high council at the end ofArcaneseason 1.

7Mel Medarda
Born to wield the arcane and master empathy
Unlike most otherArcanechampions, Mel Medarda is exclusive to the show and has never appeared as a playable character inLeague of Legends. Rejecting the warrior ways of her mother, Mel never became a fighter, relying on her intelligence and ability to manipulate others to rise to power in Piltover. However,Arcaneseason 2 reveals her connection to a society called the Black Rose, and she unlocks her own connection to the arcane.Recent reports suggest that Mel may become the first newLeague of Legendschampion in 2025, though this has yet to be officially confirmed.
6Sevika
A fighter with an impressive mechanical upgrade
Like Mel Medarda, Sevika is not a playable champion inLeague of Legends, but her abilities inArcanedemonstrate why many fans want her to be. After losing her arm, Sevika replaces it with a mechanical upgrade, giving her a significant advantage in combat. In season 2, Jinx gives her a new version with her trademark whimsicality and over-the-top touch, granting Sevika all kinds of abilities. These include a flamethrower, a claw, and even music to listen to while fighting.This version of Sevika would make for an incredible championif she were added to theLeague of Legendsroster.
5Silco
Master of manipulation and strategy
The final majorArcanecharacter with no champion counterpart inLeague of Legendsis Silco, a hardened criminal who rules the streets of Zaun with an iron fist. As noted by Jinx and Sevika, Silco rarely gets his own hands dirty in a fight, though he seems to prefer a knife on the occasions when he kills an enemy.Silco is a leader who uses fear, intimidation, and long-term planning to keep his followers in line, and his vast resources and hired guns give him the advantage. He regularly injects a small amount of Shimmer into his damaged left eye.
4Singed / Dr. Corin Reveck
A brilliant yet cruel alchemist, Singed created the Shimmer serum which could turn anyone into a monster. His experiments into mutations of different creatures were all done to save his daughter from death, and while Singed is not a fighter himself, he can call on his beasts to assist.League of Legendsgives Signed an ability called Poison Trail, which is similar to what he uses to capture wolves at the beginning ofArcaneseason 2. He can also deploy adhesive to slow enemies, fling targets into the air, and drink potent chemicals to improve his combat.
