How To Recruit Every Crewmate
Travel Around To Different Bars
Out of the ten total crewmates you may hire,eight are recruited from barsyou visit during your adventures. Escapades in the Great Sea will have you come across bars with many NPC characters to interact with. Talking at length to some characters may lead to them requesting to join your crew, but onlyafter you have offered them enough Gallons to purchase their services.
Two crewmates are already with your crew at the start of the game,Daisy ClutchandWesley Hotchkiss. While you can change their jobs immediately, you don’t need to spend any Gallons to recruit them into new positions.
NPCs that can be recruitedhave a Gallon symbol above their headas you see them walking around a bar. Characters that appear this wayspawn randomlyevery day, meaning you have to rely on luck to run into them at any given time. Try toalways visit every bar you have unlockedin betweenwonderful adventures inSteamworld Heist 2to check and see if a particular character you can recruit shows up to have a drink.
Theamount of Gallons it takes to recruit someone increases depending on your current crew size. It costs more and more to recruit crewmates as your sub gains characters and the room to host them as the story progresses. Despite these limitations, the tougher missions later in the game should give you enough Gallons to eventually hire all possible characters within the game.

Youget a new hat type with every character you recruit, giving you interesting cosmetics to swap between your favorite crew members. Every crewmate added to your ship has a set of general skills shared by each character inSteamworld Heist 2. However, as with anygame where you control an army, an individual teammate has a set of unique abilities exclusive to them.
Consider investigating each character’s special traits to see what job may fit them best beyond their default position. Assembling your crew in places where they can contribute the most to missions will help you defeat enemies faster and earn greater rewards. Here are all the hats, default jobs, and personal upgrades available for each crewmate you recruit:
Flop Cap
Sniper
Stun Gun- Daisy has patched together a Stun Gun that will stun enemies for 1 turn.
Studious- Decreases cog costs of abilities by 1 (to a minimum of 1).
Pickelhaube
Reaper
Grenadier- Wesley can use 1 grenade item per turn as a free action.
Veteran Wardog- For each enemy scrapped, all attacks deal +1 damage for the rest of the turn. Stacks up to three times.
Leather Hat
Boomer
Harsh Language- Shame any enemy on the map for 3 damage. Ignores armor. 3 explosive damage. Splash damage. 3 turns.
Sick Burn- Improve Judy’s Harsh Language. It deals 4 damage instead of 3, becomes a free action, the effect chains (Aura 2, from all targets) and it causes Burning. Splash damage.
A Simple Valve
Engineer
Eldritch Beam- Fires a piercing projectile with full aimline. Reduce cooldown by 1 each time Sola scraps an enemy. 5 Shot Damage, 10 Turns.
Secrets of the Deep- Eldritch Beam becomes a free action, it deals 10 damage, and Sola is healed 1 for each enemy it scraps.
Fez
Brawler
Abs of Steel- Cornelius can flex his powerful abs to become invulnerable to all damage for 1 turn and taunt all enemies to attack him. Ends the turn when used. 1 use per mission.
Body Butter- Abs of Steel become a free action, doesn’t end the turn, and gets 1 more use.

Believe It!- Attacks that normally would end Tristan’s turn won’t end it.
Flanker
Hasty- +2 Movement.
Slippery- Poe gets a 50% chance to evade each incoming projectile.
A Simple Beanie
Scram- Select a tile anywhere on the map where you’ve explored, and instantly teleport there. 5 turns.
Sneakstrike- Scram becomes a free action and Beacon turns invisible when he uses it.
Soft Cloth Hat
Hollow Frame- Crowbar’s light build allows her to make very high jumps.
Bad Vibes- When Crowbar deals damage to an enemy, she also deals 4 damage to ground enemies within 2 Aura (excluding original targets). Ignores armor.
Tit for Tat- When Chimney is attacked, the attacker suffers 2 damage.
Double Down- For one turn, your primary attacks fire or hit twice.
The order in which you hire any of these characters depends on your needs for upcoming missions. As you try to recruit all the crewmates available inSteamworld Heist 2, keep in mind which ones suit your playstyle best, and which ones will help support weaknesses in your crew at that moment.
