Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Will Feature Original Character’s Return 17 Years After Their Exit

The possibility ofStation 19cameos inGrey’s Anatomyseason 21 gets addressed by showrunner Meg Marinis. Even though the ABC firefighter drama signed off with its series finale earlier this year, the upcoming episodes of the hospital soapwill include a major character from the spinoff. Jason George will continue the role of Dr. Ben Warren, joiningGrey’s Anatomyseason 21as a series regular. It has sparked speculation about whether otherStation 19cast members might be able to make an appearance.

Ahead of the premiere ofGrey’s Anatomyseason 21, which returnsThursday, September 26 at 10 PM ET on ABC, the latest update fromTVLineprovides some insight into whether Carina DeLuca Bishop (Stefania Spampinato) and Taryn Helm (Jaicy Elliot) might appear. Carina Could Fit Right Into Grey’s Anatomy Season 21

Maya Is No Stranger To Grey’s Either

TheStation 19series finale, “One Last Time,” features the main team envisioning what life could be like after their last rescue mission. Carina pictures a big happy family with her wife Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre), with at least four children.Carina last appeared inGrey’s Anatomyseason 20and was even a recurring presence on the show at one point. As for Savre, though she’s appeared less frequently, she made six appearances as Maya on the main hospital show.

But even if those cameos don’t happen this year, it sounds like the medical soap’s latest showrunner is appreciative of keeping the connection with the firefighter spinoff alive.

Savre booked a recurring role on the NBC crime dramaFound, which is returning for season 2 on October 3. The character details are kept under wraps, though her part has been teased as being important. Still, particularly with the presence of Dr. Ben Warren onGrey’sonce again, as he is very close with both Maya and Carina, there’s no reason the couple couldn’t pop up for a surprise scene that could even be kept as a surprise.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 Just Made One Station 19 Character Return More Likely

Station 19 is ending with season 7, but Grey’s Anatomy’s season 21 renewal offers the chance for some characters to cross over to the medical drama.

It’s worth noting, however, thatGrey’s Anatomyseason 21 will see several character returnsand cast changes, separate and apart from theStation 19alums. But even if those cameos don’t happen this year, it sounds like the medical soap’s latest showrunner is appreciative of keeping the connection with the firefighter spinoff alive.
