Summary
Players will face a huge number of threats as they explore the Settled Systems inStarfield, so it’s always best to be prepared with an array of weapons in case negotiations don’t always work out. These can range from more common ballistic-based guns - which many robots and aliens have more resistance to - or players can get their hands on the more futuristic laser-based weapons. There are also plenty ofoptions for melee weaponsand explosives, providing a number of ways to defeat foes.
One such explosive item is the Negotiator, a rare ballistic rocket launcher that uses 40MM XPL ammoand can be found by defeating high-level Ecliptic, Pirate, and Spacer enemies at points of interest or can be bought at Trade Authority shops after reaching level 40.When combined with the Hornet Nest mod at one ofStarfield’s workbenches, players can add explosive rounds that can create a cluster of mini-explosionsand deal massive physical damage to foes caught in the blast radius. This easily makes the Negotiator one of the most powerful weapons inStarfield.

This already powerful weapon seemingly wasn’t enough for RedditorDelicious_Ad761, who opted to take matters further usingStarfield’s console commands, showing footage of the Negotiator’s destructive properties turned up to a whole other level. The weapon now fires far more rounds than before and eviscerates a Pirate attack with ease, with fellow Redditor IceSki117 calling it “Starfield’s answer to Doomguy’s BFG and Master Chief’s turret.”
What Can Starfield’s Console Commands Do?
And How Can Players Use Them?
While Bethesda has recently released the Creations kit forStarfieldto let players make their own supported mods for use on both PC and Xbox, there are plenty of other ways to enhance the items that exist in the game, with the easiest to access this being through console commands. These exist on the PC version ofStarfield- but unfortunately, not on Xbox yet - andcan be activated simply by pressing the Tilde (~) or Grave (‘) key while in-game or when using the game’s menus.
Using certain console commands will disable achievements.
Console commands work in a similar way to how the games of yesteryear’scheat codes used to,enabling the likes of God Mode to provide invincibility and unlimited ammoor the Player Spellbook to unlock all available powers in the game. Alternatively,if players know the item numbers for specific weapons, such as the Negotiator, they can spawn them in their inventory at any time, making earlier game sections far easier with this higher level of firepower.
WhileStarfielddoes penalize players for using these by disabling achievements, clearly not wanting to make things too easy for achievement hunters, for those who are already on a later New Game Plus-type playthrough, it can be extremely satisfying to activate one of these commands and just unleash chaos and destruction across the Settled System as Delicious_Ad761 did in their footage.

Starfield
Bethesda Game Studios presents Starfield - the first original IP from the studio in twenty-five-plus years. Set in the year 2310, the United Colonies and Freestar Collective are observing a shaky truce after a war set 20 years prior. The player will customize their character as a member of a space exploration team called Constellation while navigating The Settled Systems and the conflicts between the warring factions. According to Bethesda, players can explore over 100 systems and 1000 planets to find resources and build their ships, living out their own sci-fi journeys.
