Detectors are an important item inStalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, but even with the small tutorial on them, it can be confusing as to how you are supposed to use them. You will have tolearn how to interpret beepsand find out how the game wants you to use them. However, once mastered, you will be able touse Detectors to find any Artifactsin the game you want.

While thelaunch ofStalker 2has been buggy, it is still a fun game to play. Players can expect to see arange of new features and a vast amount of charactersand interactions on the new stage. Some of these new features include just how toadapt and survive in the Zone, which will be a major part of why you want to use your Detector.

How To Use A Detector In Stalker 2

Interpreting The Beeping Noises

Using a Detector will be something you have to doas soon as you get out of the sewer tunnelsas the game begins to introducenew features inStalker 2to you. However, while the game does vaguely give you some instructions, actually figuring it out can be a little confusing. It still took me a while to understand how to put the Detector away once more after you are done using it. However, before you do that you will first want to equip itby using the radial menu and selecting the Detector.

STALKER 2: Heart Of Chornobyl - More Than Another Cult Classic

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an ambitious and engrossing open-world immersive sim, putting you in the Zone, an unnerving and unfathomable place.

Once you have it pulled up, it willbegin beeping and displaying a flashing light. The flashing and beeping should be in sync, and the fast it goes, the closer you are to an Artifact. When it reaches a point where it looks and sounds like it might be a big long beep as opposed to a lot of tiny ones, you are likely very close.Look around and try moving a little in each directionif the Artifact does not show up.

If you are using a controller and have feedback enabled, the controller will also vibrate, giving you an audio, visual, and physical cueas to where the Artifact might be. Try using this method if you are having trouble locating it by sound alone.

The Artifact will make a noise when it’s revealed, but it still might be quite hard to see. If you are walking around at night, it might be even harder. Look forsomething with a very slight glow and fairly low to the ground. Once you see it, approach it and choose to interact with it.

When you are done, you can usually use your radial menu toselect something that requires two handsto put the Detector away, which is the way that has been most effective for me. Otherwise, you might have to play around with the same button you use to equip it to see put it away, as I have found it to be quite fiddly.

What To Do With Artifacts Once You Have Them

How To Equip & What They Do

Interacting with the Artifact will put it in your inventory. From there, you can open the inventory, select the Artifact, anddrag it over to one of the square slots on your loadout screen. It should tell you what it is going to do for you. For instance, the first one you pick up says itgives you “weak” Radiation Protection.

They also often offer some other bonus, such asgiving you an endurance boost or giving you damage reduction. The better your armor, the more of them you will be able to equip at one time. If you find ones you already have or don’t like, they also often sell for at least7500 Coupons, making it easy to get some quick cash.

To find more Artifacts, use your Detectorwhen you come across anomalies in the Zoneanywhere on yourmap inStalker 2. There is usually some kind of Artifact in the anomaly, and you will be able to find it and equip or sell it. Additionally, you can sometimes earn them from quests. For instance, in the early game, yourdecision to help Squint or not may also earn you an Artifact, depending on if you give it back to him or not.

Future anomalies may not be as easy to use your Detector at as the one in the tutorial, asmultiple anomalies could be affecting the Detector at the same time. Fortunately, you can get better Detectors as the game goes on, allowing you to find more and generally better Artifacts as well. This is a difficult game, so the more help you can get the better, which is why finding Artifacts with Detector is so important inStalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
