Marvel Comics’Spider-Manhas one of the best rogue galleries in all of comics, with his brawls against theteleporting super-villain known asSpotalways turning into frustratingly tricky fights that Spidey needs to adapt through to overcome consistently. In a new series of cosplay images,Spider-Man and Spot go at it in live-action, giving fans a riff on their very first fight in an inventive and visually unique way.

A comic fight brought to life on Instagram by Ultimate Spider-Ash (@its__ash____), this cosplayer dresses exclusively as Marvel’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and acts as both the photographer and editor of his dozens upon dozens of arachnid-tinged pieces.

The Spot and Coyote Marvel

Wearing the spandex of the Ultimate Universe’s Spider-Man, Spider-Ash has recently collaborated with fellow cosplay creator @wens.1998 and his Amazing Spider-Man design, with the pair showing what it’s like when Spot throws a multiversal wrench into things, expertly recreating the iconic “Spider-Man Pointing” meme and even having their Spider-Men share a bite to eat high above the bustling streets of NYC.

First trading blows with Spider-Man in 1984/1985’sPeter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #97-98, by Al Milgrom and Herb Trimpe,Dr. Johnathon Ohnn, aka the Spot, is a tragic villain with the power to open and utilize portals pretty much anywhere and in any way, with his access to “Spotworld” allowing him to traverse across different dimensions. Employing his mastery over his unique warp techniques while hammering Spider-Man with teleportation guerrilla tactics that often trump his signature Spider-Sense in a fight, every battle with this foe is an intense and infuriating affair, one that Spider-Ash adapts into live-action perfectly.

Across the Spider-Verse’s Spot Has an Even More Terrifying ‘Son’

Across the Spider-Verse might have helped turn the Spot into a serious villain, but his twisted progeny in the comics is far more horrifying.

Doing a commendable job of bringing the kinetic energy of Spider-Man and Spot’s first fight as well as all of their subsequent scuffles into live-action, Spider-Ash adds in bursts of purple, blotches of black spots, and a grungy sewer background to help tell a tale influenced by multiple comic moments attached to the post. Paying tribute toSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versenext, Spider-Ash swaps Miles Morales out for his version of the character anddepicts Spot trapping him in different floating portals, with their outstretched body parts popping in and out of existencein a visually striking and effect-heavy way.

Spider-Man and Spot Cosplay Shows What Their Inevitable Live-Action Fight Should Look Like

Spot still has one more big-screen appearance coming up in the heavily delayedSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verseanimated film, but with the MCU’s live-action Spider-Verse already bringing Tobey McGuire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland’s iterations of the character together inSpider-Man: No Way Home, it’sentirely plausible that Spot will eventually make the jump into the real worldas well, hopefully with Miles Morales’s version of Spider-Man in tow. Until then, fans will have to seek out the incredible talent in the cosplay community to see what a real-life take onSpider-Manvs.Spotcould and should look like!
