Solar Opposites season 5 is coming and here is everything known about it, including recent news, the cast, and the possible story.
Alfred Molina’s The Duke Returns In Solar Opposites Season 5
After Dying Years Ago
Alfred Molina voices The Duke inSolar Oppositesseason 1, and after several years of absence, the character is finally back inSolar Oppositesseason 5. In season 1, The Duke was the first leader of the wall, with his authoritarian ruling methods leading Cherie and Tim joining the resistance in order to take him down. He is the main villain throughout the first season, until Cherie realizes Tim’s true plans to become The Wall’s next ruler. Cherie and The Duke escape into the backyard, and after working together in season 2, The Duke is killed by an explosion.
The Duke has been dead for several seasons now, but he manages to come back to life inSolar Oppositesseason 5. At theend ofSolar Oppositesseason 5, episode 10, Terry realizes that the backyard had been destroyed while he was supposed to be watching it. Because of this, Terry uses a ray that brings dead things back to life on the yard, bringing all of the grass back. Unknown to Terry, this also brings back the dead shrunken people who live in the backyard, with the episode ending on a shot of The Duke rising out of the dirt.

Solar Opposites' Meta Recasting Of Justin Roiland Didn’t Work As Well As Rick And Morty’s
Justin Roiland had huge roles in both Solar Opposites and Ricky and Morty, but both shows have approached the task of replacing him differently.
How The Duke’s Return Sets Up Solar Opposites Season 6’s The Wall Story
He Could Be A Hero Or A Villain
Season 5 teases that The Duke will play a major role inSolar Oppositesseason 6’sThe Wall story, and there couldn’t be a better time to bring him back. In episode 10, Cherie announces her intentions to become the next leader of The Backyard, with her clearly leaning into some authoritarian rhetoric. This mirrors The Duke’s rule that she was opposed to way back inSolar Oppositesseason 1, but her friendship with The Duke could mean that he convinces her to change her ways once she realizes that he is alive once again.
However,it could also be that The Duke wants his power back, with him believing that Cherie is the best way to get it. Cherie’s rule of The Backyard means that The Duke has easy access to the most powerful figure in The Backyard, something that he could take advantage of. The Duke could return to his villainous roots by seizing power from Cherie, setting up the return ofSolar Opposites' biggest villain.

Solar Opposites Season 4 Subtly Sets Up 2 Spinoff Series
Solar Opposites season 4 could be building to the end in season 5, but the Hulu series has already set up two potential spinoffs with its subplots.
Besides The Duke
While The Duke’s return is exciting, this reveal has even bigger implications for the world ofSolar Opposites.Terry’s Make-Alive ray seemingly brought every single dead thing in The Backyard back to life, meaning that there is potential for all kinds of dead The Wall characters to come back to life.
Tons of people have died in The Backyard throughoutSolar Opposties' The Wall storyline, so it wouldn’t make sense for Alfred Molina’s The Duke to be the only one who returned. The Wall’s heroes and villains could come back for a bigger The Wall story than ever before, setting up a pretty exciting sixth season.Solar Oppositescould feature the grand finale of The Wall storyline, and it is all thanks to Terry’s wacky sci-fi invention.
