The performances by theSlow Horsescastare certainly one reason why the show continues to earn such positive reviews, and Oldman, in particular is a highlight. Though the ensemble of actors, which includes Jack Lowden, Rosalind Eleazar, Kristen Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves, and Christopher Chung, is a big reason for its charm,Oldman is arguably delivering one of the best performances of his impressive career. Lamb is, in many ways, repulsive, but he’s also cunning, and Oldman gives the character a certain degree of charm.
Season 4 will introduce newSlow Horsescharactersplayed by Hugo Weaving, Joanna Scanlan, Tom Brooke, Ruth Bradley, and James Callis.
The writing is another reason forSlow Horses' success, and much of this is, of course, drawn from Herron’s books.Season 4 is set to adapt the events of book four,Spook Street, which sees Lamb and his team attempting to get to the bottom of a devastating bombing while River Cartwright (Lowden) looks after his ailing grandfather (Jonathan Price). It remains to be seen how audiences respond toSlow Horsesseason 4, but the pattern thus far suggests there will be plenty of enjoyment to be had.
