Summary
The Sims 4’s latest expansion pack, “Lovestruck,” launched on June 17, 2025, capping off the game’s recent “Season of Love” live event. Season of Love introduced the Riviera Retreat and Cozy Bistro destination kits to the store, as well as patch updates to the base game focusing on the nuances of relationships, with more complex, customizable romantic boundaries for players to choose from and set the stage for the romance-centered expansion.
Lovestruckbrought back the Turn Ons/Turn Offs mechanic from past titles likeThe Sims 2to help determine how attracted Sims are to each other through mutual interests and different types of interactions. These would allow players toplan better dates with newer interactions, locations, and more through the Cupid’s Corner dating app, which can also beused to date other players' Sims from the Gallery. Of course, as to be expected from an expansion centered around seduction, there are more options to WooHoo in the game, but somewhat surprisingly, new kinds of deaths have also been added to the game.

While this article will be covering both WooHooing and dying, there is no option for “Death by WooHoo” inThe Sims 4’sLovestruckexpansion.
The Sims 4 Lovestruck Review: A Bit Of A Hot Mess
The Sims 4 Lovestruck is great for cultivating relationship depth and romantic drama, but its level of detail is better suited to a Game Pack.
Lovestruck Gives Sims More Places To WooHoo
From A Versatile Blanket To A New Love Motel
Sims aren’t just limited to the simple comforts of a bed when they want to WooHoo, and patches and expansions have often provided various other locations such as showers, hot tubs, tents, photobooths, closets, coffins and more for characters to fool around in. This is unsurprisingly also the case inLovestruck, which introduced a selection of new WooHoo locations toTheSims 4.
The first WooHoo locationLovestruckadds to the game comes in the form of Romance Blankets, which can bebought from Build Mode. This is a versatile new item that blurs the line between a blanket and a rug and serves multiple functions. For example, the Romance Blanket can be used for picnics, watching stars, snuggling or simply lounging, and of course, WooHooing. The WooHoo animation for this item features a distinctive and playful visual where the blanket is pulled over and covers the Sims, making them look like a burrito or a spring roll as they roll around the area, as seen in footage by YouTuberdaniellebuildsbelow.

The other WooHoo locations are situated in Ciudad Enamorada, where players can find Beso Rápido and several Venue Closets. The closets work similarly to those seen inThe Sims 4: Get Togetherand can be found almost anywhere on the map, such as the nightclub, gym, and lounge, providing players with plenty of places for their Sims to hook up.
Beso Rápido, however, is a love motel that can be found next to the lounge in the Vista Hermosa neighborhood of Ciudad Enamorada and provides a more private space. There are a variety of offerings available at Beso Rápido, each with its own costs. Players can book a short stay for only §20 Simoleons, which serves the purpose of letting their Sim rest up, but for those looking seeking a more active stay, the motel charges §40 Simoleons to WooHoo or Try for Baby so long as a romance-ready Sim is nearby.

Lovestruckalsoreintroduced the Vibromatic Heart Bed, which was first featured back inThe Sims’Livin’ Largeexpansion in 2000, before the term “WooHoo” was even introduced inThe Sims 2.The iconic bed is now called the “Vibromatic Nuevo” after the Art Nouveau movement and is priced at §4,500 Simoleons.

The Sims 4’s Lovestruck Expansion Introduced Two New Deaths
Failed Relationships Can Take A Toll
Lovestruckintroduced two new death types; “Death by Broken Heart” and “Death by Choking.” Considering the content of theLovestruckexpansion, it feels like it should be noted that the “choking” in question is purely food-related and not to do with any other kinds of activities mentioned in the previous section. While this death sounds like it could be included in any part of the game, rather than a romance-themed expansion,Lovestruck’s choking animation can be triggered by eating chocolates while extremely sad.
Death by Broken Heart, however, is slightly more directly in keeping with the theme of relationships and emotions, as it can be triggered by breakups and extreme jealousy or rejection. This isn’t the case with just one failed relationship, butdying of a broken heart occurs if a Sim is repeatedly exposed to these kinds of tumultuous romantic events.

Both of these death animations can be seen in YouTuberSimingly’s video below:
Out of the two, Death by Broken Heart is fairly common, while Death by Choking is far rarer.
With these new romance features inLovestruckit seemed only natural that the expansion would include more places to WooHoo inThe Sims 4. Still, it’s rather interesting that it has also explored what happens when things go horribly wrong and the toll it can take on a Sim’s emotional state, albeit with quite an extreme end result.
