A new leaked promo card forPokémon TCG Pocketfinally gives a Generation 1 starter the respect it deserves, despite the occasional push from the community to contradict its status. The virtualTrading Card Gamehas just received a new expansion in the form of theMythical Islandmini-set.The expansion adds 86 new cards to the game, which adds up with the nearly 300 that were made available with theGenetic Apexpacks inPokémon TCG Pocket. LikeGenetic Apex,Mythical Islandis expected to have events centered around it and, with it, promo cards to reward players.
Mythical Islandis a mini-set centered around the first Mythical Pokémon, Mew, though it also gives players access to the second Mythical Pokémon, Celebi.There are several new cards and alternative prints of existing cards for players to collect at the moment, and this list will expand more with the aforementioned promo cards. The new events and respective rewards have not yet been completely detailed, but there has been anewPokémon TCG Pocketleakshowcasing the upcoming content until February 2025, including a promo card that pays tribute to an underrated Gen 1 starter.

The upcoming Pikachu promo card, which can be seen in a post made byCentro Leakson X (formerly Twitter) shows all five Gen 1 starters celebrating.Pikachu is at the forefront, as the central creature of thePokémon TCG Pocketcard, but is flanked by Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Eevee, all of theKanto region starters inPokémon.

The upcoming promo Pikachu card is a new print of the already existing Pikachu cards, with 60 HP and a Gnaw attack that deals 20 damage to opponents. This card has proven to not have much of a gameplay value, especially when compared to the much superior Pikachu ex cards made available withGenetic ApexinPokémon TCG Pocket, but the new print does stand out due to its all-encompassing Gen 1 artwork.

In total, nine different promo cards were leaked for the upcoming months, including a Special Illustration Rare version of Blastoise and a Moltres ex.
