Although details about the plot are limited, even after the latest casting update, it was reported back in May that Carell will play an author in the upcoming series.The storyunfolds on a college campus setting, with Carell’s character having what’s described as a complicated relationship with his daughter. The premiere episode will be written by Lawrence and Tarses, who worked on the popular hospital comedyScrubs. They also executive produce alongside Carell, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer Productions.

Without knowing too many details, it’s hard to be too definitive about the new HBO show. But the fun thing about Lawrence’s shows, as evidenced bytheShrinkingcast, in particular, is that the veteran TV creator tends to bring together great ensembles.
