Studio Pierrot, the producers ofNaruto, Bleach, Black Clover, and many of the most beloved and successful anime have just announced their plans to adapt one of themost popular isekai manhwawith many more webtoon adaptations on the way. Pierrot recently announced apartnership with a major webtoon production studioand their first joint project is as exciting as it gets.
Latna Saga: Survival of a Sword King in a Fantasy Worldby YKB and Soon-Q is getting an animeby Studio Pierrot who, as perOricon, recently announced a partnership with the Korean animation studio Red Dog Culture House with the sole intent of adapting webtoons into anime. Though no release window has been revealed just yet,Latna Sagawill begin production within this year as Pierrot and RDCH have reportedly already established the framework for the partnership between the two studios.

Pierrot Gives Into the Webtoon Craze
Licensed under RDCH’s webtoon label called Studio Khit,Latna Sagais easily the studio’s most well-known intellectual property. As such, it comes as no surprise that the series would be first in line for an adaptation. RDCH has previously outsourced anime adaptations, but itscollaboration with Pierrot is a recipe for successon a whole new scale.
That said, though the partnership only recently came to light, Pierrot and RDCH actually signed the agreement back in August and have agreed to form ajoint production committee in Japan over the next three years.Latna Saga’s anime adaptation will be followed by adaptations of popular Japanese manga as well as other Korean webtoons, the details of which are yet to be revealed.

Both RDCH and Studio Pierrot’s CEOs seem thrilled at the partnership and their passion and cooperation will no doubt create something truly great in the end. RDCH’s CEO, Bae Ki-yong commented,
“This is a rare opportunity for us to demonstrate the capabilities we have cultivated so far, and we are very excited about it.”
