What Happened in My Hero Academia, Season 7, Episode #13?

Deku’s Battle With Shigaraki Heats Up

Episode 13 picked up where episode 12 left off, with Deku having just made a dramatic arrival to the field of battle. Deku was shaken at the sight of so many heroes, including Bakugo, on the ground, and began to lose control of his power until Mirio stepped in to assure him that everyone was still alive. Deku was able to regain his focus and begin engaging Shigaraki, making use ofthe final Quirk within One for All: Gearshift.Gearshift has become so powerful over the generations of power-stockpiling that it’s now very difficult to use, enabling physics-breaking power at the cost of a major blowback afterward.

Gearshift certainly turned the tide of battle, allowing Deku to deliver some incredibly powerful blows with relative ease. He also made use of nearly every Quirk in his arsenal at once, proving just how much he’s improved at his parallel Quirk processing. While Deku dealt major damage to Shigaraki, his endless growth has allowed him to heal from these injuries at a rapid pace, and Deku will soon face the consequences of using Gearshift, if the Second User’s warning is anything to go by. The battle has reached a critical juncture, and everything could depend on how the next few minutes play out.

Deku uses Gearshift to deliver powerful blows to Shigaraki.

My Hero Academia Season 7, Episode #14 Focuses on the Mutant Rebellion

The Heteromorphs Strike Back

Episode #14 of season 7 ofMy Hero Academiais entitled “Together with Shoji,” and based on the preview, will focus on Shoji and Koda as they confront the masses of Heteromorphs, like themselves, who have assembled under the command of Spinner. Spinner isn’t exactly looking like his usual self, suggesting he may have obtained additional powers from All for One before the final battle. This is the battlefield surroundingthe hospital where Kurogiri is being kept, meaning that whoever wins will gain control of Kurogiri’s warp powers–something that could easily change the tide of battle.

This battle is a particularly difficult one, because the Heteromorphs have plenty of valid reasons to be upset with the status quo, even if they’re being used by the villains right now. These are largely ordinary civilians, not villains, so the heroes are going to have to take a truly careful approach to avoid turning this situation into a bloodbath. This is when it will take a true hero to turn the tides, not by fighting, but by gathering their strength and speaking to these people on a personal level. Can Shoji and Koda rise to the occasion and save their fellow Heteromorphs before it’s too late?

Spinner using the Body Bulk Quirk he got from All for One.

While it may not be as exciting as Deku vs. Shigaraki, the hospital battlefield is an incredibly important location strategically speaking, so it makes some sense thatMy Hero Academiawould shift its focus to a site that fans haven’t seen much of yet, right as the action there heats up.
