Marvel Rivalsroster of characters is only growing, and Star-Lord is now part of the group as the game nears the end of its closed Beta test. He has a fair amount of good abilities and makes a lot of movement happen due to the skills he comes with. He is not quite as easy to pilot as others, but he has a high DPS and can do many fun things.

There are afair number of characters in theMarvel Rivalsrosternow. Given that we still do not have a full roster and the developers could have a few surprises yet, it is impossible to know who will rise to the top once the full game is launched. However, Star-Lord can be a very strong character if you know how to pilot him well.

Marvel Rivals Is Exactly What Overwatch 2 Should’ve Been

Marvel Rivals is in its closed beta and looks to take the hero shooter by storm on launch, showing players what Overwatch 2 should’ve been.

All Star-Lord Abilities

Blasters and Rocket Propulsion

While Star-Lord is rated similarly toIron Man inMarvel Rivalsin that he has a2-star rating, he can be a little difficult to pilot for newer players. This is because he is abit more vulnerable with only 250 HP, but he can move fast and stay out of damage when needed.

Team-Up Ability

Cocooned Revival

Adam Warlock can help Star-Lord and Mantis by allowing them to revive themselves after being killed.

Star-Lord does not want to be in the middle of the fight. Use his abilities tokeep him on the move and out of the center of attention.

These abilities are all shown off in the video from YouTuberDantics, who goes over them all and shows youhow they work in practice mode. Characters may stillget nerfed or buffed before the full game’s launch, so this skill set may change. How To Use Star-Lord’s Ultimate

How Galactic Legend Works

Star-Lord’s Ultimate is one of hisbest traits and is what makes him one of people’s favorites. This allows him to fly freely while locking onto targets and being a general nuisance. You do not have to think about this one;just let the bullets fly, unleash lots of damage, and get some KOs in the process.

If you may, target the healers and other fliers, like Iron Man, with this Ultimate, as it can get them out of the game and make it harder for the other team to win. The rest of your team can mop up the ground if you have removed most of the support. You will also wantto flank with the Ultimate when possible. Star-Lord is particularly effective against short-rangemelee characters like Magikif he gets that upper hand.

This Ultimate has a short range, so ensure you arenear enemies when you use it.

Typically, you will want tostay to the side of or behind enemiesif you may anyway, but Star-Lord can get around back easily, and using the Ultimate in this way can help you win matches that much quicker. This is one of the things that will help you become much more comfortable with this character inMarvel Rivals.

Other Star-Lord Tips & Tricks

Use Him as a DPS Champion

Star-Lord is not quite as good at staying in the air asfull flierssuch as Iron Man. Instead, his flight and rocket boots are all about getting movement across the map. This flexibility is what helps tomake the vulnerability of a lower health bar less of an issue. This is where you really want to shine with Star-Lord.

Star-Lord’s greatest strength is his ability tomove, dodge incredibly fast, and get behind enemies who are lagging behind. He cannot recover health, but he can make it hurt to take him out. He also aims and shoots with his blasters quickly, often quicker than similar characters. This flexibilitymakes him a bit of a monster when he gets going.

However, itcan take a while to get going if you are unsure. Not knowing how to pilot him, when to get into the fight, or how to target vulnerable, squishier heroes is all part of learning how to play him right.

He wants to move out, find a spot in the high ground, just like dear old Obi-Wan, and make his play. He especially wants totarget other weaker heroesand make them less of a concern for any teammates.

One of the cool tricks to Star-Lord is thathis dodge is the same button as reload, which means that dodging also refills your blasters without having to take the full reload animation to do it. This great trick allows you tomove out of the way of incoming damageand immediately fire right back at the head to take them down.

Tougher, bigger enemies are going to be the bane of your existenceinMarvel Rivalsas you seek to win matches. You will have a harder time taking them down outside of your Ultimate, so you want tostay on the outskirts of the fighting and keep yourself from being too vulnerable. Move, fire, repeat.

Try to sit back, pick off weaker enemies, find stragglers, and flank them to get the drop on them. There are many opportunities to get lots of KOs and to set up your team for success here. And, if you get the chance, pair up with Adam Warlock to take advantage of Cocooned Revival if at all possible. Otherwise, have a great time learning how to pilot Star-Lord inMarvel Rivals.
