A new novel has been released by Marvel that introduces a new story forDoctor Doom, two years before the iconic villain is set to make hisMCUdebut in 2026’sAvengers: Doomsday. Victor Von Doom continues to be one of Marvel’s most prominent supervillains, as he has been since his Marvel Comics debut in 1962’sThe Fantastic Four #5. Over the years, Doctor Doom has formed connections with many notable superheroes, and a new Marvel novel continues this, tying him into theScarlet Witch and Quicksilver’s story.
Doctor Doom has shared the page with the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver several times in Marvel Comics' history, but this new story includes a dramatic change in the trio’s relationship. This comes shortly after the reveal thatRobert Downey Jr. will appear as Doctor Doomin the MCU, with him set to have a crucial role inAvengers: DoomsdayandSecret Warsas the Multiverse Saga’s new primary antagonist.Marvel’s new novel could hint at a possible story for Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, which would be game-changing for the MCU.

Marvel Has To Break A Huge Doctor Doom Rule - Or Casting Robert Downey Jr Was A Waste
If Marvel does not want to waste casting Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, then it may have to break a huge golden rule regarding the iconic villain.
Marvel’s New Scarlet Witch Novel Introduces A New Von Doom
Released in August, a new novel by Marvel, titled “What If… Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker Were Siblings?: A Scarlet Witch Story,” features a dramatic twist that could alterDoctor Doom’s own story in the MCU. In the novel, SHIELD agentsMary and Richard Parker adopted the young Wanda Maximoff while on a mission in Latveria, while her brother, Pietro, was adopted by Doctor Doom. Years later, Wanda, a student of Doctor Strange and niece to Aunt May, meets her twin brother, the speedster Pietro Von Doom.
Wanda Maximoff becomes Peter Parker’s sister in this timeline, and learns to control her powers with the help of Doctor Strange, but both Parker siblings soon learn that, with great power, there must also come great responsibilities.

An excerpt from this alternate reality story can be found onMarvel.com, revealing exactly how Wanda Maximoff and Pietro Von Doom cross paths. In Marvel’s main continuity,Doctor Doom has had a fascination with the Maximoffs for several years, so it makes sense that this would continue in alternate worlds. This could hint at the same story being told in the MCU’s Phase 6, which could create the opportunity for both Pietro andWanda Maximoff to return to the MCU. This would allow Marvel Studios to debut two very different Von Dooms.
Marvel Is Giving Us Two Very Different Dooms In 2 Years
After introducing Pietro Von Doom in a new Marvel novel, Marvel Studios will be introducing a Doctor Doom variant who looks exactly like Tony Stark in the MCU’s Phase 6. While it seemsDowney Jr. will be playing Victor Von Doom, there is speculation he could also be a Stark variant who became the iconic villain. This would show Marvel introducing many different iterations ofDoctor Doom, twisting his mythology and playing with multiversal concepts rather than adapting his actual history, which could be a very clever move to distance this version from previous live-action disappointments.
