The mainstream continuity version of Web-Weaver is a relatively new addition to the Marvel Universe – and already, with one appearance, the character’s2099equivalent has made an indelible impact onSpider-Mancanon. That is because ofthe brutal display of force that Web-Weaver 2099 unleashes in the form of the character’s “razor webbing” – an offensive version of Spidey’s traditional webbing, which makes short work of an army of space vampires. This shocking reimagining of webbing inConquest 2099#2 leaves readers to wonder in horror at the idea of it being used against non-undead opponents.

Marvel’s revitalization of the “2099” imprint began with ANNIHILATION, and now the publisher has announced that will be followed by CONQUEST.

As of the character’s debut, it remains unclear who is under Web-Weaver 2099’s mask. That said,the appearance of the character’s costumeis certainly reminiscent of the hero’s modern-day counterpart, complete with a black, white, and yellow color scheme. The biggest difference, however – aside from the razor webbing – is that the 2099 version of the character has four prominent red eyes, contrasting sharply with a yellow face mask. Given the character’s impressive debut, readers should assume Web-Weaver 2099 will be play an important role inConquestmoving forward.

Web-Weaver 2099 Is Powerful Enough To Take On Dracula’s Vampire Army One-On-One

Conquest2099#2 Is Available Now From Marvel Comics

Readers are offered their first glimpse of Web-Weaver 2099 inConquest 2099 #2, in the midst of a battle between Dracula’s vampires and Spidercide 2099’s legion of spider-people, the Araneons. Aiding Spidercide on his galactic conquest as his enforcer, Web-Weaver defends the Araneons on a conquered planet, Urzon, which in the issue is invaded by a revenge-seeking Dracula and his newly-transmutated fleet of vampires. In other words, more than just a deadly new take on a Spider-hero, Web-Weaver is also deeply tied to thecosmos-spanning lore of the2099imprint.

Web-Weaver 2099’s fate in the issue is unknown, as Dracula’s Skrull enforcer, Gravehunter, tangles with the character in the final panels before severing his left arm.

Although the vampires first seem to take down the arachnids with ease,Web-Weaver’s arrival on the battlefield begins to turn the tide, as he shoots his razor webs through the bloodsuckers' mouths with ease, removing their heads from their bodies. Web-Weaver 2099’s fate in the issue is unknown, as Dracula’s Skrull enforcer, Gravehunter, tangles with the character in the final panels, before severing his left arm. The battle on Urzon does not conclude by the end of the issue, surely carrying over intoConquest 2099#3, which is where readers will get to witness the next steps for thisdeadlySpider-Manvariant.
