The upcoming movie will pick up five years after the events ofDominionand sees dinosaurs having to live in solated equatorial environments after failing to adjust to the planet’s climate, while centering on a team of mercenaries and scientists hunting to acquire genetic material to make a life-saving drug for humans. The firstplot description forJurassic World Rebirthindicated that its cast of characters would become “stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades”. Though other islands do exist in the world of theJurassic Parkfranchise, Nublar’s status was left unclear afterFallen Kingdom’s volcano eruption, inviting a return.

While Marshall’s Margaritaville tag may simply be a cheeky nod to the previousJurassic Worldmovies, I think it would be more interesting ifRebirthbroughtthe franchise back to Isla Sorna, also known as “Site B” in theJurassic Parkfranchise. In bothThe Lost WorldandJurassic Park III, this island was deemed to be the more dangerous of the two, with InGen conducting more intense experiments and dinosaurs being let loose after a hurricane forced the company to abandon the facility and island overall.
How Jurassic World Rebirth Could Be Connected To The Other 6 Jurassic Movies
Jurassic World Rebirth is a fresh start for the franchise, but it could still be connected to the other 6 Jurassic movies in some major ways.
In looking at the overallJurassic Parktimeline, it does seem thatJurassic World Rebirthis set to take placesome 12 years afterDominion, which wouldn’t quite fit the “decades” description of the synopsis, though Sorna’s absence since 2001’sJurassic Park IIIcertainly would.
