From an Earth-like planet to a fascinating coming-of-age story,Skeleton Crewwill truly bring something fresh totheStar Warstimeline. However,Jude Law just revealed that the show’s new Jedi will be plenty exciting himself.
In an interview withRotten Tomatoes TV, shared onYouTube, Jude Law explained quite a bit more about hisSkeleton Crewcharacter, named Jod Na Nawood. Although little has been shared about the show, this interview confirmed that Law’s character is indeed full of mystery, as Law explained:

“So, I play a character called… Jod. Well, that’s one of his names. He is someone they meet and who is there to try and help them back to their home planet. And you never quite know whether he’s trustworthy, whether he isn’t trustworthy, whether he’s with one side or another… You never quite know.
But ultimately, he’s a part of the crew. Some want him a part of it, some don’t want him a part of it. I can’t give too much away. I’m gonna say he’s full of contradictions.”

Both Law’s notable hesitation around his character’s name and his cagey explanation of the role he plays on the show suggest thatthere is so much more to Jod Na Nawood, and that likely means a very exciting future forSkeleton Crew.

The upcoming live-action TV show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, looks to be a fascinatingly unique Disney+ show. Here’s what’s known about it so far.
Jude Law’s Jedi Is Hiding His True Identity
In his interview withRotten Tomatoes TV, Jude Law had clear hesitation around saying his character’s name, which suggests that he is concealing his true identity in the show. Presumably, Jod Na Nawood is merely an alias, which is reinforced by Law’s explanation that Nawood is just one of the character’s names. However, this could mean something particularly exciting forStar Warsmore broadly.
This could mean something particularly exciting forStar Warsmore broadly.
Specifically,Jude Law’s character may be using an alias to conceal his true Jedi name—which viewers themselves might know. From the very beginning,Star Warshas been a franchise built on incredible plot twists and shocking reveals. Clearly, this is still a common practice inStar Wars, as recent shows likeThe Acolytehave continued to implement plot twists in major ways. Presumably,Skeleton Crewwill build upon this tradition even more.
Skeleton Crewis set concurrently withThe Mandalorian, which makes it even more curious that Jod Na Nawood seems to be a Jedi and, evidently, could already be known in the franchise. While it seems unlikely, given the timeline, Jod Na Nawood could be one ofthe survivors of Order 66who was very young when the Jedi Order fell. Alternatively, Nawood could be a Jedi from canon or Legends who was operating solo during the early New Republic era.
Of course, all of this is speculative, but Jude Law’s interview certainly makes these thrilling theories seem possible. No matter Jod Na Nawood’s true identity, though, it’s clear that this newStar Warsshow will be a thrilling addition to the franchise. In fact, with just a couple more months to go untilStar Wars: Skeleton Crew’srelease, thisStar Warsshow gets more exciting all the time.
