In November 2023,Act Your Agecreator Alyson Fousetweetedthatthe show would not be picked up for season 2but thanked the fans for loyally watching. She also noted that season 1 would be available on Netflix in early 2024.
Yvette Nicole Brown confirmed the cancelation onXa few days later.
While no one has given a reason forAct Your Age’s cancelation, Fouse’s response to a comment in her original post hints at what the problem may have been.@SarayasOutcastsasked,
“Was a 2nd season planned before the strike happened or did you always know it wasn’t happening? I’m so sorry Alyson this show was amazing.”
And Fouse responded,
“It was in the works before the strike.”
Plenty ofshows were canceled during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, and it’s possibleAct Your Agewas one of the many casualties.

With a small cast and a setting that takes place primarily in apartments and city streets, it would be a very cheap season of television to produce. Only time will tell now ifAct Your Agehas enough juice to earn a season 2.
