Ever sinceInfinity Nikki’s release in early December 2024, the cozy adventure game has featured a bright loading screen involving a full trailer-like movie and catchy theme song, at least until a couple of days ago. This title screen was a wonderful showcase of the game, featuring animations of Nikki and Momo using several of the abilities in various locations in Miraland, but it could also be difficult for systems to load effectively while also running updates. Sadly, this change to a new loading screen may only be temporary for the current in-game event.
As part of the massive update for theShooting Star Season event inInfinity Nikki, there has been avery noticeable change to the loading screen. AsMsMaikorecently shared on Reddit, the long period of maintenance was made worth it just for the loading screen.

As MsMaiko also points out, despite the previous theme music being fun and upbeat, havingsuch a loud song with lyrics play was a bit much for many players. Even more important, perhaps, was the game playing such a graphically intense video with the music while also attempting to install updates and load the game, which could cause many issues.
Shooting Star Season’s Loading Screen Causes Much Less Lag
Title Screen Is Much Calmer Than The Original, And Many Hope It Remains
Infinity Nikki’s new loading screen is much more simple and pleasing to the eye, as well as friendly to technology.A simple image of Nikki standing underneath a night sky with shooting stars flying above is shown alongside some peaceful, calming music. This is in stark contrast to the previous loading screen which had so much going on that it caused lags on many systems, especially on mobile devices, as was highlighted in a comment by Reddit usermediumdeviation, delaying people from getting to log into the game itself.
This is one of many changes thatInfinity Nikkidevs have made recentlywith regard to player feedback, although many fear that this new loading screen is not going to last. As this new screen is so clearly themed to the current limited-time event of the Shooting Star Season,it may revert to the old movie and music on January 23rd when this event comes to a close. Hopefully, developers are aware of the difference in lag with the new style of screen and will make a permanent update that is similar.

The Original Loading Screen Was More Of A Trailer Than Something To Play During Updates
Beautiful Song And Animation, But Not The Right Placement
Still, there are manyInfinity Nikkiplayers who arealready missing the Jessie J theme musicthat was played with the original title and loading screens, such as Reddit usernomnomchezburgersshowed in their meme tribute to the song. Thankfully, the music can still be found onSpotifyand other music sites.
The song is fun and upbeat, and hopefully can still be used in the game, but played as often as it was could become a bit much for many people. Ultimately, thevideo is what caused the most problems for many, who wanted to be able to log into the game andactually see the storyrather than watch what was more like a trailer to advertise the game.

When the Shooting Stars Season event ends on January 23rd, hopefully the loading screen will either remain as the current iteration or change to something equally less intense, both for the technology that is trying to load and for players who may want a cozy and calm experience. That said, I do hope that the song still gets to be featured somewhere inInfinity Nikki, rather than being relegated to my Spotify playlists.
