Summary
RewatchingAll of Us Are Deadmakes it clear what direction the show is heading to ahead of season 2. Even thoughAll of Us Are Deadalready covered all of its source material, I was not surprised to learn that theNetflix K-dramawas going to return for a new season. Despite the lack of updates on season 2,All of Us Are Deadremains one of Netflix’s most popular Korean shows. With not even a poster or trailer for the next season, we can only speculate what will happen next to On-jo, Nam-ra, Su-hyeok, and perhaps, Cheong-san.
I predictAll of Us Are Dead 2will include a time skipto allow the show to catch up with how much has passed in the real world. A time skip would help the events of season 1 have a bigger impact. This is especially true forCheong-san’s death, which might be a fakeout but should still impact the remaining students going forward. WhereasAll of Us Are Deadseason 1 was about surviving the first hours of the apocalypse, season 2 could be about kids exploring this new, post-apocalyptic world.

8 Most Important All Of Us Are Dead Scenes Ahead Of Season 2
More than two years after All of Us Are Dead premiered on Netflix, some scenes have become even more important in hindsight ahead of season 2.
All of Us Are Deadarguably only has one option for its season 2 story – expand the scope of the show and take place out in the open rather than in a confined space like in season 1. Now thatHyosan High has been destroyed, it is difficult to imagine how the zombie K-drama can replicate the atmosphere of season 2. WhileAll of Us Are Deadseason 1 included a couple of scenes set outside the school, namely the ones involving On-jo’s father, the show mostly takes place in just one location.

There is no point in trying to replicate season 1’s survival horror now that the remaining characters are somewhat used to fighting zombies.
The school was destroyed in episode 11, after which the survivingAll of Us Are Deadcharactersbriefly fought a few zombies in the middle of the street before reaching a safe spot controlled by the military. On-jo and the others would lather escape from the quarantine zone to meet Nam-ra at the school’s rooftop, thus bringing the season full circle. There is no point in trying to replicate season 1’s survival horror now that the remaining characters are somewhat used to fighting zombies. Therefore,I believeAll of Us Are Deadwill be a true post-apocalyptic show in season 2.
Most Of The Characters Are Living There By The End Of Season 1
IfAll of Us Are Deadwishes to do something closer to season 1, the quarantine zone controlled by the military is the show’s next best choice now that the school is no more. Apart from Nam-ra, all of the surviving characters are currently living in the quarantine zone. After spending two months in quarantine, they were allowed to walk freely in the settlement and were as safe as someone could be in a zombie apocalypse. Therefore,All of Us Are Deaddoes have the chance of replicating season 1’s “characters fighting zombies in a limited space” dynamic if it wants to.

Even though the military has a no-tolerance policy toward those who show any signs of Jonas virus infection, an outbreak could still happen. It only takes one asymptomatic zombie – or hambie – to get past their first line of defense for a zombie outbreak to start inside the quarantine zone. This may be what leads the character to leave safety and go back to the streets of Hyosan. All of Us Are Dead’s protagonists may also simply choose to escape again, most likely to help Nam-ra or perhaps to search for Cheong-san.
Nam-ra’s Hambie Friends Should Also Be Very Important
Nam-ra discovering other hambies and learning how to control her powers is also somethingAll of Us Are Dead 2will certainly focus on. Not only didAll of Us Are Deadseason 1 end on a cliffhanger as Nam-ra jumped out off the roof to showcase her abilities, but it also changed the end of the webtoon by doing so.In the source material, Nam-ra returns after spending a few months taking care of a childwithout ever hurting her. This leads the military to conclude that Nam-ra was the key to finding a cure.
All of Us Are Deadis based on Now In Our School by Joo Dong-geun.
The idea of asymptomatic zombies who are infected with the virus but did not fully transform was one of the most interesting things aboutAll of Us Are Dead. Although none ofNam-ra’s hambie friendsappear in the finale, I assumed these new characters living in the wreckages of Hyosan will be very important in season 2. Nam-ra cannot join her school friends in the quarantine zone because she has the virus, further suggestingAll of Us Are Deadseason 2 will take place in multiple locations rather than just the military settlement.
