Married At First Sightseason 18 has been one of the most highly-anticipated seasons of the series in years, but after seeing the first few episodes, I’m worried about how many potential producer plants are in the cast. ThroughoutMarried At First Sighthistory, viewers have watched the show along with the cast, who don’t get a preview of the series they’ve been a part of. While the viewers are unpacking the events as they’re seen on screen, the cast members are typically watching with an understanding that the story being shown is only a part of what they experienced.
Despite knowing that their experiences won’t be entirely true to what happened in the real world,Married At First Sightcast members are typically excited to see their season unfold on the show.Married At First Sightseason 18’s cast has been revealed for quite some time, so seeing them finally getting married on screen and moving into the next phase of the experiment has been exciting, but getting to know the cast after seeing their photos has proven there are more issues than expected for this season. While many were excited forMAFSseason 18, it could be trouble.

Married At First Sightseason 18’s castfeatures five couples as per usual and all of them have made it through the beginning phase of the experiment, each getting married and getting to know each other during their ceremony. While the couples haven’t had much alone time yet, there have been a few moments in the first episodes of the season that have given me pause about the cast. Despite the majority of the cast members only having appeared on screen for a short time, there are someMAFScast members who seem like they could be producer plants already.
If producer plants are present, the couples may be stuck in an endless loop of drama.

MAFS Season 18’s Ikechi Is Likely A Producer Plant After Repeated Applications
His Behavior Has Risen Red Flags
AlthoughMarried At First Sightseason 18 is the first time that viewers have been able to get to know Ikechi, it isn’t his first time trying to appear on the show. Ikechi, who got married to hisMAFSbride Emem in an early episode of the season, hasapplied to be onMarried At First Sighttwo times before his successful attempt this season. WhileIkechi is now a cast memberof the Chicago season of the series, he also applied to be onMAFSseason 9, which filmed in Charlotte, andMAFSseason 12, which filmed in Atlanta.
20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
Though Ikechi seems like he could just reallywant to be part of theMAFSfamily, his repeated attempts to get into a cast of the series have rubbed me the wrong way entirely. While his personality doesn’t seem like a complete red flag, there have been moments on the show where I haven’t gotten the best feeling about him, but the actual potential evidence that he’s a producer plant comes from the fact that he’s applied to be on the show multiple times, in multiple cities.Ikechi’s desperation to appear onMAFSmakes him seem like a clout chaser.

MAFS Season 18’s Madison Could Be A Producer Plant Due To Her Contradictions
She’s Not Being Honest About What She Wants
After meeting herMAFSgroom, Allen,Madison seemed to be excitedat the idea of getting married, thoughshe wasn’t entirely sold on her match. Admitting quickly that she and Allen had chemistry as soon as they started talking, Madison does actually seem to be interested in making things work with Allen, but she’s been contradicting herself about whether or not she feels she can make things work long-term with someone who isn’t her physical type. Allen, who’s a tall attractive guy, isn’t conventionally athletic in the way that Madison expected her future spouse to be, which is raising issues.
While Allen isn’t unattractive to Madison, she’s made it clear that she’s having an issue accepting him as her spouse when he isn’t the physical type she’s described wanting in the past. Madison has been clear thatshe likes Allen’s personality and connects with him, but she’s contradicted herself about whether or not she can see a future with Allen based on his physical attributes. Madison’s contradictions have made her seem less like a genuine part ofMAFS,andmore like someone who’s being coached from behind the scenes by producers on what to sayand how to present herself.

MAFS Season 18’s David Has The Attitude Of A Producer Plant
He’s Being Too Casual With His Wife’s Concerns
MAFSseason 18 groom Davidshared during the matchmaking special that he was living with his parents for good reasons. Explaining to theMAFSaudience that he felt it was a better use of his paycheck to live with his family and help them as they age rather than paying rent on a place he didn’t own, David shared he was saving enough money to buy himself a home, in hopes that by the time he was ready to do so, he’d be in a committed relationship. Despite having a great explanation,David didn’t share it with hisMAFSbride.
Instead ofproviding hisMAFSbride Michellewith any of his explanations about living with his parents, David cavalierly shared the information with his new wife, who was floored that she’d just married someone who lived with their parents. Immediately trying to understand how she could’ve been matched with someone with David’s maturity level, Michelle broke down quickly and the drama continued throughout their wedding reception.David’s decision to stir up drama rather than explain himself made him seem like he could be a producer plant. His instinct wasn’t to comfort his new wife, but instead to create useless drama.
Is MAFS Season 18 Going To Be Ruined By Production Interference?
Things Need To Change Quickly
AlthoughMarried At First Sightseason 18 is just getting started, it’s possible that things could get out of hand quickly if there are genuinely several producer plants in the cast. Withproducer plants working to create drama that continues rather than resolves, the show could benefit from a drama perspective, but the couples themselves would suffer from dealing with so much unnecessary drama. ThroughoutMarried At First Sightseason 18, viewers are expecting to see the couples try to work through their issues. If producer plants are present, the couples may be stuck in an endless loop of drama.
