Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra is back with her formidable team that can take down unprepared trainers in December 2024 inPokémon GO. Following on fromThe Wild Area Globalevent, players will be keen to tackle the best AI trainers they can and earn substantial rewards along the way. The Team GO Rocket Leaders remain one of the hardest challenges, making it vital to select the best line-up to counter their Pokémon.
You can face three Team GO Rocket leaders: Arlo, Cliff and Sierra. To be able to challenge any of the three, you have to havefirst defeated six of the Team GO Rocket Grunts. Once you have done this, you can find one of the Team GO Rocket leaders at random by spinning PokeStops or Rocket Balloons in the sky.

An Unchanged Team For December
Sierra’s team remains the same from November, although this may change during the month with the current game season expected to end. She will always lead withFairy- and Psychic-type Raltsagain before using one of three Pokémon for both of her next two picks. Thirra can use a wide range of life-ups from battle to battle, making it harder to know who to select to counter her. Her second Pokémon will be one out of Steelix, Milotic, or Sableye. She will use either Gardevoir, Houndoom, or Nidoqueen for her final choice.

If you start a match and realize you have a bad matchup based on Sierra’s team, you can leave the match and select a different line-up to counter her.
I have found the easiest way to counter Sierra is by selecting Pokémon that are super-effective against multiple members of her team. It is best to start with a Pokémon that is super-effective against Ralts, as that will always be your first opponent.Gengar is a great optionfor this. Being a ghost-type Pokémon, it will also have an advantage over Gardevoir if it is selected.

Milotic and Sableye can both cause problems, but the above team will still overpower them if either is selected as Sierra’s second choice.

Once you have defeated Sierra, you will get a number of rewards, including the chance to catch a rare Shadow Pokémon. If you defeat Sierra in December 202 inPokémon GO, immediately after the battle, you will be given an opportunity to catch her first Pokémon, Shadow Ralts. While not the strongest, it is a rare catch, and you have approximately a 1 in 64 chance of finding its shiny version. There is also still time to earn rewards in theMax Out Finale event,which runs until the end of the current season.
You will also receive a special Team GO Rocket 12km red egg.These can only be obtained by defeating a rocket leader and offering the chance to hatch some extremely rare Pokémon. Trainers gain 1,000 stardust each time you beat Sierra or any other GO Rocket Leaders in December 2024. This can be used to power up and increase the CP of Pokémon, which can prove vital in raids or PvP battles.
You need to have space in your egg inventory to be able to receive the 12km red eggs.
Finally, you will receive two more items chosen randomly from a list of five options. These are x4 Revives, x4 Hyper Potions, x2 Max Revives, x2 Max Potions, or an Unova Stone. Sierra offers a tough challenge in December again, but by selecting the right team that counters her line-up, you can easily come out on top and claim some great rewards inPokémon GO.
