In a newEntertainment Weeklyinterview, theDaredevil: Born Againcastopened up about how excited they are not only to be reunited again, but also to continue from where they left off after Netflix’sDaredevil. Without giving too many spoilers away, several cast members shared the following:

Charlie Cox: Deborah and I had a scene where we find an old box — am I allowed to say that? I think I can say that. We had a scene where we were looking through a box and we find stuff from the past, and it was real stuff from the past. It was stuff from the old [show]. It was like a photo frame we used on a set eight years ago and we were looking at it together — well, I wasn’t looking at it. But we were reminiscing over it, and it was sweet. It was kind of a little bit of life imitating art.
Deborah Ann Woll: Definitely a lot of no-acting-required moments. Real nostalgic.

Vincent D’Onofrio: There are storylines that reach back to the original series. Where our characters are coming from, where we are, and where we’re going, some of those threads lead back.
10 Netflix Defenders Saga Characters Who Could Return In Daredevil: Born Again, Ranked By Excitement
Daredevil: Born Again has gone back to the The Defenders Saga canon, and some specific Netflix characters returning in the series would be exciting.
Why Daredevil: Born Again Needs Its Ties To The Original Netflix Show
WhileDaredevil: Born Againdid have to go through a creative overhaul in 2023, which caused a significant delay in the new show, it was the beginning of course correcting that reconnected the show to Netflix’sDaredevil. The Marvel Studios show had recast Vanessa Fisk and was seemingly set to exclude both Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, all integral characters of the first three seasons of Charlie Cox’s show.
But thanks to the new direction,Daredevil: Born Againis leaning into what madeDaredevilthe big success that it was on Netflix. With both Karen and Foggy back as central players, Punisher and Bullseye both set to return, and the show even hiring the same stunt coordinator,Daredevil: Born Againwill be able to tap into the audience that followed the series all those years ago. Given how much time fans have invested into these iterations of the characters, it is only beneficial for Marvel Studios to haveDaredevil: Born Againrely on the original series as much as possible.
Ultimately, the most effective path forward for the show was always going to be to embrace its roots fully, especially given the original Netflix series' reputation, making the initial decision to not do so jarring. Nevertheless, what matters is that Marvel Studios tookDaredevil: Born Againback in that direction with its reconfiguration. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will be ready to present a newDaredevil: Born Againtrailer sooner rather than later.
