There may be a massive change to Basic Attacks starting inHonkai: Star Rail3.2 that could buff some characters in unbelievable ways, but some obscure details about the leaked information may prove the rumored buff to not be applied. The turn-based RPG by HoYoverse has entered Version 3.1, an important patch that continues the main Amphoreus story arcand brings forth two playable characters who had previously been introduced as NPCs: Tribbie and Mydei. The current update will also add several limited-time events that should give players rewards likeStellar Jade inHonkai: Star Rail3.1.
While there is still a lot of content to go through during the next few weeks, attention is shifting toward Version 3.2 thanks to the beta tests that have been revealing several pieces of key information. So far, the leaks have shown the materials used by Castorice and Anaxa, the two new playable characters confirmed for the patch, and their gameplay kits. The majority of the leaks revolve around playable characters, but there are rumors about the other pieces of content in the update, such as the introduction of a new item forbig spenders inHonkai: Star Rail3.2.

Basic Attacks’ Max Level May Increase To 10 In Honkai: Star Rail 3.2
Currently, The Max Level For Basic Attacks Is 6
Among the leaks that highlight other changes to the game aside from the characters themselves, there has been a rumor about a change to the structure of Trace-leveling – specifically to Basic Attacks. According to information provided by the leaker known as Sakura Haven, the maximum upgrade level for Basic Attacks will now be level 10. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit. For reference, Basic Attacks, unlike characters’ Skills, Ultimates, and Talents, normally only go up to level 6 inHonkai: Star Rail(as of Version 3.1).
Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Leaks: New Material Teases The Release Of Anticipated Character
A new material has been leaked during the Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 beta tests and it may hint at the upcoming release of an anticipated character.
As can be seen in the leak, this level increase is also applied to characters who have Enhanced Basic Attacks like Blade and Firefly. Furthermore, the leak says that the current leaked kits for Castorice and Anaxa are already calculated considering the new rumored maximum level for Basic Attacks. As such, the leaks don’t take into consideration their ability at level 6 but, instead, at level 10. This increase has yet to be confirmed by HoYoverse, but it could have some implications, both positive and negative, especially for characters likeBlade inHonkai: Star Rail.

Leaked Max Level For Basic Attacks Could Increase Damage Output For Honkai: Star Rail Characters
The Max Level Could Be A Way Of Simply Prolonging The Upgrade Path Without Any New Modifiers
The rumored increase to the maximum level of Basic Attacks in Version 3.2 could positively affect the performance of some characters, going so far as to be considered a buff depending on how it works. If the increase to level 10 for Basic Attacks is true and the subsequent levels following level 6 continue to increase the characters' damage with the ability, then characters who use Basic Attacks as the core part of their rotation (like the aforementioned Blade andFirefly inHonkai: Star Rail) could see their moves deal even more damage than usual.
Honkai: Star Rail Leaks Show Disheartening Update On Mr. Reca’s Rumored Release
Mr. Reca’s rumored release in Honkai: Star Rail seems to have undergone a disappointing update that could heavily affect the current meta.
There is a chance, however, that the maximum level increase, however, will only better distribute the current max buff at level 6 to level 10. If this were the case, thenplayers would continue to deal the same amount of damage with the characters that they currently do, but the road to reach that max increase would be longer. The leak doesn’t specify whether or not the new max level for Basic Attacks will come with increases to the ability’s performance or if it will only be a new way of distributing the same current stats inHonkai: Star Rail.

Rumored Basic Attack Level Increase In Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 Could Require More Materials Or Credits
Players May Have To Put More Time Into Farming
The other possible consequence is that players may be required to farm more materials and resources to fully upgrade the Basic Attack to level 10.This hasn’t been mentioned in the leaks, but if the ability were to gradually increase modifiers after level 6 all the way to level 10, players may have to farm more materials to consume to enhance the ability. While the leaked list ofCastorice’s materials inHonkai: Star Raildoesn’t show the usage of more items, it does seem like she may consume more Credits than what has been used by 5-star characters so far.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 Leaks: Castorice Is Set To Have The Most Broken Ability Ever (& It’s A Huge Problem For Future Characters)
There have been new leaks about Castorice’s abilities in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 and of them seems to hint at what is likely the most broken skill yet.
I wouldn’t mind farming more resources to have the power of certain characters increased, even if the modifier turns out to be minimal. Coincidentally, Blade and Firefly are among some of my best DPS units, so any new buff to them, especially considering they are being somewhat powercrept by more recent releases, would be a great way of making them valuable for more time. For now, the leaks should be considered with caution, but they do spark hope for some characters inHonkai: Star Railwho rely on Basic Attacks.
