The first behind-the-scenes image from the upcoming season ofThe Boyshas arrived. The subversive Prime Video superhero show, which is based on the comic book series of the same name, stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Jessie T. Usher, and a robust ensemble cast and follows a group of vigilantes bent on taking down a corrupt superhero group known as The Seven, who are managed by the entertainment conglomerate Vought International. The upcomingThe Boysseason 5, which is set to premiere in 2026, will be its last season.
On his official X account,The Boyscreator and showrunnerEric Kripkeshared a behind-the-scenes image from the set of season 5. The image showsKripke posing in what appears to be the set for the Vought Headquarterswith Chace Crawford, Antony Starr, and Nathan Mitchell in costume as The Deep, Homelander, and Black Noir respectively. His cheeky caption reads “They saved me. They saved me in every way a man can be saved. Feast your eyes on the first [season 5 BTS] pic!” and reveals that the photo was taken by Mitchell. It Confirms More Returning Stars
As the new season has just begun filming, there have only been a few announcements as to whichThe Boyscastmembers will be returning alongside the announced incoming stars, a roster which includes Mason Dye as Bombsight as well as Daveed Diggs and Jared Padalecki in undisclosed roles.Jessie T. Usher and Jensen Ackles have also been confirmed to appear, reprising their roles as A-Train and Soldier Boy respectively.
Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles previously co-starred in the CW showSupernatural, which ran for 15 seasons between 2005 and 2020.

With this behind-the-scenes image,Kripke has confirmed the return of three major characters in one fell swoop. It was unlikely that the show would lose Homelander, The Deep, or Black Noir, asthe The Seven membershave been a part of the main cast of the show from the very beginning. However, the show has had series regulars depart the main cast in the past, including Dominique McElligott (Queen Maeve) and Elisabeth Shue (Madelyn Stillwell). Additionally, it seems unlikely that Claudia Doumit will return as Victoria Neuman, who died in season 4.
