The incorporation of Dante’s Nine Circles creates some redundancy with Hell’s Rings and it remains to be seen how the Hellaverse will reconcile this.The remaining Circles – Limbo, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery– create many opportunities for the Hellaverse in terms of lore-building. Much of the inner-workings of the Rings is open to interpretation and subject to fan theories.
Given thatHazbin Hotel’s Demon Overlordsdo not preside over Rings, there is a possibility they could be the rulers of the Nine Circles of Hell. In this case, it seems likely that Valentino (Joel Perez) or Carmilla (Daphne Rubin-Vega) would preside over the Violence Circle, and Vox (Christian Borle), Alastor (Amir Talai), or Velvette (Lilli Cooper) would preside over Heresy.
Much of the inner-workings of the Rings is open to interpretation and subject to fan theories. Lilith and Stolas could also be involved in the Treachery and Fraud Circles, respectively. Creator Vivienne Medrano circulated a tiered hierarchy of the Hellaverse class system that indicatedLucifer Magne (previously Lucifer Morningstar) is Hell’s supreme leader, canonically settling the dispute overwhether Satan is the ruler of Hell inHelluva Boss. Lilith and Charlie (Erica Henningsen) are considered the Queen and Crown Princess of Hell, and are succeeded in power by the Seven Deadly Sins, Goetia, Overlords, Sinners, and Hellborn, respectively. The lowest class in the hierarchy is, of course, the one consisting of Imps and Hellhounds, as they hold no real power or sway in the Hellaverse.

The Hellborn have their own intrinsic class system, ranging from Demons to Imps and Hellhounds. Imps and Hellhounds are the lowest of the low in the Hellaverse, and their primary function is to provide service to higher-ranking Demons. Each group comprises major characters from the two shows.

Overlords Were Once Sinners, But Now Deal In Souls
TheDemon Overlords ofHazbin Hotelwere once Sinners, butgradually gained their dark powers by dealing in souls and defeating other Demons in battle. This seems especially true of Alastor, the notorious deal-making Radio Demon, who famously defeated Vox. While Hell’s royalty – such as the Goetia and the Magne family – would be considered above the Overlords, they have the potential to rival these members of the Hellaverse upper class in terms of power and influence. Because of that the class structure in Hell could evolve over time, albeit at the chagrin of some.

Additionally, certain Overlords were able to combat Heaven’s Angels, indicating that some have significantly more power than others. This was seen in Carmilla Carmine’s murder of one of the Angel Exorcists, as well as Alastor’s near-defeat of Adam in theHazbin Hotelseason 1 finale (Alex Brightman). However, speculation thatAlastor may have made a deal with Lilithcould impact his demonic powers, causing him to be significantly stronger than his fellow Overlords. Carmilla, on the other hand, simply discovered that Angels could be killed with Angelic steel.
