A high-profile reboot will naturally receive attention even during the casting process, yet Frost’s comments indicate to take any update with caution. Even HBO has stated that the show will draw “rumor and speculation” andoriginally declined to commenton reports of Frost’s casting.
Hagrid was originally played by the late Robbie Coltrane.
Frost did not deny that he would be in the series since he simply stated that it was not yet “confirmed.” WhenDeadlinefirst broke the news, it emphasized that he was only “nearing a deal” to play Hagrid, which would explain why the actor is dispelling the speculation. If he is still involved in contract negotiations, an early announcement could make that process more complicated.Frost could still eventually be announced as the next Hagrid, but it will not be confirmed for some time.
