In allegiance with the Radiant Dead, Varronbetrays the Green Lanternsand takes on the role of John Stewart’s nemesis.

His undead Revenant transformation isn’t the only upgrade Varron receives, as he’s soon given a horrifying new form. InGreen Lantern: War Journal#10, though Varron’s body has been destroyed, his hatred continues to sustain him in hisnew state as Star Shroud. In this form, Varron is no longer controlled by the Radiant Dead and can act on his own twisted will. Still, this power isn’t enough for Varron, so he seeks out the Source Lantern to push himself to even further heights. To make matters worse,he isn’t Green Lantern’s only god-tier foe.

These two forces are destined to collide as the Lantern Corps' war rages on, though Thaaros' sights are currently set squarely onOa and the Green Lanterns.
