Summary
The Witcher’s Geralt and Triss come to life in new cosplays that imagine the two characters getting romantic. Based on the novel series by Andrzej Sapkowski, Netflix’sThe Witcherfirst aired in 2019, introducing Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. After three successful seasons,The Witcherseason 4is now set to continue the story with Liam Hemsworth taking on the lead role, with actor Anna Shaffer expected to reprise her role as Triss.
As the wait continues forThe Witcherseason 4,@antoniocosplayshares a new collaboration with@daisy_cosplayin which the pair cosplay as Geralt and Triss, respectively. Check out the pair’s post below:

The two images feature the cosplayers holding each other close against a stone wall, seemingly at the edge of a river. The renditions of Geralt and Triss both look closer to how each character is portrayed in theWitchergames, with Triss' bright red hair being the key indicator.
Why A Triss & Geralt Romance Could Be Problematic In The Witcher Season 4
The Netflix Adaptation Doesn’t Need A Love Triangle
InThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntvideo game, players can choose between romancing either Yennefer or Triss. The Netflix adaptation, however, follows more in the footsteps of Sapkowski’s books, meaning Yennefer has been treated as Geralt’s main romantic interest. The possibility of a Triss romance has been floated, however, as season 2 sees Triss attempt to take Geralt to bed, but Cavill’s character ultimately refuses her advances.
Cavill revealed back in 2021that he’s “Team Yennefer” when it comes to bothThe Witcherbooks and games.

Following theend ofThe Witcherseason 3, Ciri (Freya Allan) is off on her own. If the show follows the books, both Geralt and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) will be spending some time apart as they attempt to reunite with her. This physical separation between Geralt and Yennefer could see the Triss romance option coming back into play, but it might be for the best if the two characters don’t get together. One major reason, of course, is thatit would be a major bump in the road for what seems like the show’s romantic endgameof Geralt and Yennefer.
The Witcher Season 4 Will Be Frustrating For Geralt & Yennefer Shippers (But Not Because Of Cavill’s Exit)
Liam Hemsworth will be replacing Henry Cavill in The Witcher season 4, but this won’t be the main problem for Geralt and Yennefer’s continued romance.
If Geralt and Triss become romantically involved, it could ultimately take away from the bond that the show seems most interested in pursuing. Though the twoWitchercharacterscould potentially enjoy one night together as Shaffer’s character suggests in season 2,a casual romantic encounter at this point could end up feeling like narrative padding or a distraction, especially since season 4 already has the challenging job of setting up the show for its final outing. Instead of spending time with a love triangle storyline,The Witchermight be better off leaving the Triss romance off the table.
