New character leaks about Skirk inGenshin Impacthave emerged and, based on the new information about the elusive character, she may help save the game’s meta structure while giving a much-needed boon to a specific element– but players should be wary of believing the leaks so early on, as there is still a lot to consider. Skirk was first presented as an NPC during the final Archon Quests set in Fontaine, having rescued Tartaglia from the Abyss and helped fend off theAll-Devouring Narwhal inGenshin Impact. Having played her role, Skirk disappeared once again.

The character has been absent from the game for over an year now, but she may be returning soon. This is because, with the Version 5.3 livestream, developer HoYoverse teased a portion of the content that will be added in the months to come after the patch that brings the final Natlan Archon Quests. Several previouslyleaked characters were confirmed forGenshin Impact, such as Dahlia and the prison girl, and among the roster of seven silhouettes, it’s possible to see what seems like Skirk, memorable by her head adornment and the shattered glass around her.

Skirk May Have Cryo Powers In Genshin Impact

Leaks Say She Will Be Released In Version 5.7

With Skirk nearly confirmed as a returning character in future patches, speculated to be a new playable character, too, there have been new rumors surrounding her. Even though it is still fairly early and she still needs to be formally confirmed by HoYoverse, some leaks about her have arisen following her teaser in the Version 5.3 livestream. According to information provided by the leaker known as Full Stop Chan,Skirk will use Cryo power once she is released as a playable character inGenshin Impact5.7. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks: Capitano May Never Become Playable For A Very Grim Reason

A new leak about Capitano in Genshin Impact 5.3 has emerged and it may sustain the previous leaks that said he would not become playable.

It is worth noticing that the leak does not specify that Skirk has a Cryo Vision, per si, meaning she may not depend on the blessings of the gods to wield her powers – she could have a Delusion like the Fatui or have unlocked elemental powers through another source. The leak does not mention her weapon type nor her role in team comps, butSkirk is known for being a powerful swordswoman, so there is a chance that she will wield a sword in combat and operate as a Cryo DPS inGenshin Impactteam comps.

Version 5.7 is expected to arrive in mid-June 2025, based on the game’s six-week schedule for updates.

Skirk’s Leaked Cryo Powers In Genshin Impact Could Affect The Meta

The Element Has Been Struggling Lately

While the information provided in the leak is minimal, it could have drastic repercussions if it is true. This is because Cryo, as an element, is at an all-time low. Even though the element is still fairly strong with powerful reactions such as Superconduct and Melt, it is currently paling in comparison to other elements and reactions that have been buffed over the course of the past year. The last significant Cryo character release was Wriothesley and even with the arrival of Citlali as aCryo character inGenshin Impact, her release is much less significant.

Genshin Impact: It’s About Time HoYoverse Retired Alchemy Tables

Farming could be optimized in Genshin Impact if developer HoYoverse retired Alchemy Tables in the way that they are currently presented.

This is because Wriothesley being released also meant that the strongest Cryo DPS had just entered the game. As a catalyst user, all of his Normal and Charged Attacks automatically deal Cryo DMG as opposed to Physical DMG. Furthermore, the basis of his kit revolves around the usage of Normal and Charged Attacks, meaning that Wriothesley’s Cryo application is nearly unbeatable. With the proper sub-DPS and support units, Wriothesley can constantly Freeze and Melt opponents, for example, swiftly eliminating groups and depleting large HP bars. The big issue with Wriothesley is hisabsence from rerun banners inGenshin Impact.

Genshin Impact’s Sucrose looks worried as she adjusts her glasses.

The strongest Cryo DPS has not appeared a single time in rerun banners as of Version 5.3, making it much harder to have a competitive team focused on Cryo DMG. This is significantly worsened by the fact thatCryo characters, in general, have been profoundly ignored by HoYoverse over the course of the past year. Before Version 5.3, which will bring back the Chronicled Wish banner and, in it, the possibility of pulling for Shenhe, 5-star Cryo character reruns hadn’t occurred in over a year – the last unit was Ayaka inGenshin Impact4.3.

For reference, Shenhe’s last rerun was in Version 3.5, during the year of content linked to Sumeru.

Genshin Impact’s Mualani smiles and opens her arms with Ochkanatlan in the distance.

With the absence of several key Cryo characters from banners, players who have the desire to build Cryo-based teams have been locked out of that possibility. Wriothesley has not rerun a single time since his release, even though units released after him have already appeared twice in rerun banners.Shenhe, who is a great Cryo support, has been absent from banners for nearly two full years– even Ganyu and Eula (who is mostly a Physical DPS) have not appeared in a long time, making the concerns with Cryo’s value inGenshin Impactever more scandalous.

Along with Shenhe’s rerun in Chronicled Wish in Version 5.3, the arrival of Citlali will somewhat mitigate this by offering a new Cryo shielder who seems like an enhanced version of the 4-star Layla.Citlali helps protect the team and triggers Cryo-related reactions on the field thanks to her Cryo application, but a single support unit does not do much for the element as a whole– and that’s where the hope with Skirk comes in. If Skirk is a Cryo damage dealer, even if an off-field sub-DPS, her inclusion would mean a lot for theelement inGenshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks: You Should Complete This World Quest Chain Before Starting To Play The New Natlan Archon Quests

There’s a set of World Quests players should consider completing in Genshin Impact before they start the new Archon Quests from Version 5.3.

Dealing damage directly with Cryo, especially for those who were unable to obtain Wriothesley in his single banner run, would once again become a possibilityand, hopefully, within the current requirements in the meta. Even if she is not considered a Natlan character, Skirk could work well with Mavuika’s sub-DPS build or, perhaps, even the Pyro Traveler. If Skirk is a sub-DPS herself, she could make a great companion for characters like Arlecchino or Clorinde, who coincidentally are the characters featured in rerunbanners inGenshin Impact5.3.

Skirk’s Leaked Cryo Powers In Genshin Impact 5.7 Seem Suspicious

As exciting as the leak may seem, it is still a leak and, as such, it should be considered with caution. This becomes aggravated by the fact that it is related to a patch that is four updates away, and even more so because Skirk had not even been leaked as a playable character beforehand. Among the seven silhouettes, several other characters had already been leaked, including Dahlia and prison girl well over a year ago, as well as Ifa and Kimitsuki Ayano. Skirk had not been mentioned as a playable character once in previousGenshin Impactleaks.

Genshin Impact 5.4 Leaks Show The Game’s Most Underrated Region Is Getting A New Character

There are leaks about a new character in Genshin Impact 5.4 and their Nation could mean a return to one of the game’s most underrated regions.

There had not been rumors of her possible codename in the game’s source code for future patches or anything of the sort. Once she was teased by HoYoverse, however, the information about her possible release date and elemental power appeared. The timing of the information seems extremely questionable, especially in the absence of more Skirk-related leaks beforehand.

Players should have caution when considering leaks and the rumors aboutSkirk being playable inGenshin Impactwith Cryo abilities is a great example of this. Even though she was teased by HoYoverse, there is a chance she will only appear as an NPC during the next few patches – the developer never clearly stated they would be playable, but that players would meet them on their adventures, so there is a chance the the entirety of the rumors about Skirk inGenshin Impactare simply false.
