All the details aboutGenshin Impact5.1, including its release date, character banner structure, teasers of the story updates, and the patch’s events, have been confirmed during the update’s official livestream. Version 5.1 is the next major patch for HoYoverse’s action RPG and it will continue the story focused on the region of Natlan introduced with Version 5.0. During the update, players will be able to play through new Archon Quests related to the Nation of Pyro, as well as claim several exclusive rewards via events. Of course, they will also have the chance to obtainXilonen inGenshin Impact.
Xilonen had already been teased as the next Natlan character to be added, but HoYoverse has now confirmed that information and presented her entire gameplay kit – showing that many of the leaks about Xilonen’s abilities and role in team comps were accurate as the beta tests for the update took place. Now, players do not have to wait too much longer to be able to play with the Geo character and get deeper into the efforts to stop the Abyss’ incursion on Natlan, starting by assemblingMavuika’s heroes inGenshin Impact.
Genshin Impact 5.1 - Release Date
The Update Is Following The Game’s Regular Schedule
The definitive release date for Version 5.1 was confirmed by HoYoverse during the livestream on the officialGenshin Impactchannel onTwitch. As was previously speculated based on the game’s regular six-week schedule,Genshin Impact5.1 will be released on October 9, across all platforms on which the game is currently available – this does not include theXbox version ofGenshin Impact, which will be released in November. Some regions of the USA will have access to the update on October 8 due to time zone differences that affect the maintenance process.
Genshin Impact 5.1 - New Characters & Banners
Important Reruns Will Occur Along With Xilonen’s Debut
As was previously mentioned, Xilonen is the new character arriving with Version 5.1. The livestream confirmed that Xilonen is a 5-star Geo sword user who mostly operates as a support unit, even if she is capable of dealing damage to opponents with some of her abilities.Xilonen’s main trait is being capable of inflicting RES shred on opponentsvia her Elemental Skill. She can reduce the amount of Resistance that enemies have against different types of DMG and make them more vulnerable to the team comps’ attacks. This had already been cited in Xilonen’s leaked abilities inGenshin Impact.
The RES shred is based on the characters in Xilonen’s team comp.
Another important aspect of Xilonen’s gameplay kit is her ability to heal her allies. The results of her Elemental Burst will vary depending on how many Source Samples she can force to undergo Elemental Conversion. If she has less than two Samplers that are not Geo, Xilonen deals extra instances of Geo DMG on top of the initial burst. If she has at least two Source Samples of other elements,Xilonen can heal nearby active characters. All of Xilonen’s main abilities scale off of her DEF stat, from her healing to her damage-dealing attacks inGenshin Impact.
In addition to her debut, the developer has also announced the three 5-star characters that will appear in rerun banners throughout the update.Xilonen’s debut should run alongside a rerun banner for Chiori in Phase 1– these banners should run from October 9 through October 29. Chiori is another 5-star Geo character but, instead of being a support unit, she operates as an off-field sub-DPS, capable of helping her Geo DPS trigger Crystallize reactions. As such, she is a superb addition to team comps led byNavia inGenshin Impact.
The signature weapons for both Xilonen and Chiori will be available in Version 5.1’s Phase 1 weapon banner.
The Phase 2 banners will be composed uniquely of rerun characters. Nahida and Hu Tao will return to the spotlight during the period, expected to last from October 29 to November 19.Nahida is well-known as the best Dendro character in the gamedue to her versatility as both an off-field sub-DPS and a support character, while Hu Tao is still one of the strongest Pyro DPS characters. Both their signature weapons will also be featured in the weapons banner during Phase 2. HoYoverse also announced new 4-star weapons for the banners inGenshin Impact5.1.
Genshin Impact 5.0 - New Archon Quests, Story Updates, & Events
Several Events Will Give Players Worthwhile Rewards, Including A Free Character
Aside from the opportunity to obtain 5-star characters, Version 5.1 will also introduce Xilonen’s Character Quest. This should allow players to get to know the character on a much more personal level.Those who complete the Character Quest during Version 5.1’s Phase 1 will have access to a bonus of Primogems and Ascension materials for Xilonen, which could significantly help reduce the amount of farming required to obtainXilonen’s materials inGenshin Impact.
Version 5.1 will also introduce the new Archon Quests in the region of Natlan, asMavuika attempts to forge an Ancient Name for the Traveler. Based on the teaser presented in the livestream, the Abyss’ incursion on the Nation of Pyro will seemingly intensify and there will be a lot of conflicts to protect the region. Capitano may also add to the conflict as he is ready to, once again, defy Mavuika’s reign on Natlan for the sake of its safety. There have been leaks indicating astory twist inGenshin Impact5.1, though those haven’t been addressed by HoYoverse.
The Archon Quests of Version 5.1 will also introduce Citlali and Ororon, both of which have only been teased but have not appeared in the game so far.Completing the new Archon Quests in Version 5.1 will give players a bonus of 500 Primogems. There will also be a limited-time exploration bonus of 400 Primogems if players can thoroughly explore Natlan’s current map until the end of Version 5.2. If they do not, players could miss out on hundreds of free Primogems inGenshin Impact.
HoYoverse also announced several limited-time events for the upcoming update. This includes the Aphid Treasure Trace event, which could help with exploration as it is set in Natlan. The flagship event, however, will be set in Sumeru.Chromatic Ode of Candies and Roses will be a celebration of Nahida’s birthday during the Sabzeruz Festival, organized by several Sumeru allies that the Traveler has made during their adventures in the Nation of Wisdom. Many activities will compose the event – rewards include a free copy of Candace inGenshin Impact5.1, as well as Primogems and other materials.
Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks: Mavuika May Have The Most Broken Mount In Natlan
Mavuika’s gameplay kit has leaked and, with it, the mount she uses in Genshin Impact – and it may be broken compared to the other mounts so far.

There will also be an update bringing new Envisaged Echoes for Zhongli and Keqing in the Imaginarium Theater, as well as new cards for the Genius Invokation TCG card game mode. System optimizations include an update in the Spiral Abyss that allows players to skip Floor 9 if they previously obtained four stars on Floor 11 - and skip Floors 9 and 10 if they obtained four stars on Floor 12.Starting in Version 5.1, players will also be able to open multiple Domain Reliquaries at oncerather than having to open each one individually.
Several other minor optimizations are also occurring with Version 5.1, such as updates to the Crafting Bench that allow players to better visualize their chosen character’s Ascension materials, as well as improvements to Artifact sorting. Even without any new areas to explore in Natlan, it seems likeGenshin Impact5.1 will offer a lot of new content to play through, most of which comes accompanied by precious rewards.
