If the leak is true, Kachina will be the first 4-star character from a new Nation since Sumeru to not be given out for free. Over the past two years of content,HoYoverse has given out one free character from a new region upon the Nation’s release. In 2022, for instance, Collei was given for free alongside the release of Sumeru, especially as a means to allow players to have access to Dendro as a playable element. That trend then continued in 2023, where players could claim Lynette for free alongside the release of Fontaine inGenshin Impact4.0.
As demonstrated by the user’s query to the leaker,there was some expectation that Kachina would be given out for free– a lot of the expectation was built on the previous years. The idea was that Kachina would allow players to not only have access to a new Natlan character but also the unique gameplay mechanics that may come with it.
