Eevee fans can rejoice:Pokémonis making 2025 all about Eevee and its evolutions. Every year, the company highlights Eevee and the Eeveelutons in November, since November 21 is the official Eevee Day. The special day’s celebrations typically spill over into the rest of the month, often making November a whole month full of Eevee merch and goodies.
Not content with just keeping the Eevee party confined to one month,thePokémonCompany will be making the entire year all about the fox-like Normal-type Pokémon and its eight evolutions. ThePokémon Centerhas just announced that 2025 will be the “Year of Eevee” (sic), promising many Eevee-tastic moments and merch to come. The company will be putting “the Evolution Pokémon […] in the spotlight with an abundance of adorable products on the way.”

A New Pokémon Game Is Planned For 2025
In the announcement of Eevee Day celebrations in November 2024, the Pokémon Center announced that they would be celebrating the “beloved Normal-type Pokémon that has a whopping eight different known Evolutions.” The key word here, I believe, is “known.” By phrasing it this way,the Pokémon Company hints that more Eevee evolutions are yet to be discovered. I wonder, then, if part of the reason why Pokémon is celebrating Eevee this year is that they plan to reveal a new evolution.
The next game in the franchise,Pokémon Legends: Z-Aisslated to be released later this year, and though it’s set in theX&Yregion of Kalos, it hasn’t been confirmed yet if ittakes place in the past or the future(or maybe even both). The previousPokémon Legendsgame,Arceus, introduced several variations on existing mons and even a few brand-new creatures, so it wouldn’t be completely out of character to use the upcoming Pokémon game to add a new Eeveelution.
