A new clip fromSalem’s Lothas been released, introducing the vampire-hunting group in the long-awaited Stephen King movie remake. Originally set for release in September 2022, the movie ended up getting multiple delays, in part due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes. However, theSalem’s Lotremakerecently had its first images revealed, alongside a confirmed release on Max for October 2024. The movie will be the first film adaptation of King’s 1975 novel, following two TV miniseries in 1979 and 2024.

Now,Entertainment Weeklyhas released the first clip fromSalem’s Lot, showing the main vampire-hunting group getting ready for a major mission.The main crew can be seen inside the vampire Barlow’s house getting ready to fight him, with Father Callahan (John Benjamin Hickey) asking young boy Mark Petrie (Jordan Preston Carter) where the body is. After being directed upstairs, Dr. Cody (Alfre Woodard) triggers a switch that opens a basement door, much to the fear of Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) and Susan Norton (Makenzie Leigh).

The group discovers the basement doesn’t have any stairs, and are forced to use a ladder they get from outside. Armed with stakes and crosses, they cautiously traverse the area, which is filled with mysterious glass bottles and vials.The group hears a moaning noise that Ben starts to investigate, the short snippet ending before it’s revealed what he finds. The buildup in the last seconds promises a horrifying take on the King novel, making it unfortunate the movie won’t have a wider theatrical release. However, with the spirit of the source material clearly alive, it seems the forthcoming film will be a terrifying addition to October’s scary movie lineup.
