After seven years of continued support and constant updates,Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the free-to-playAnimal Crossingmobile game by Nintendo, isshutting down in late November. Thankfully, the game won’t completely disappear. Instead,Pocket Campwill become an offline version of itself calledAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete. As the game goes offline, some aspects of the game will no longer be available.
Like other mobile games,Pocket Campincluded some in-app purchases that included special event items and an in-game currency called Leaf Tickets that allowed players to buy items and game benefits, like covering missing materials for crafting. SincePocket Camp Completewill no longer allow for in-app purchases, opting instead for a one-time, up-front fee, some of these special items and benefits will no longer be available to players.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Features That Aren’t In Complete
Leaf Tickets, Stamps, And More Will Be Gone
The two major features that won’t be inAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp Completeare Leaf Tickets and Pocket Camp Club, the subscription service that gives players special benefits on their campsites. Items that won’t be transferred toPocket Camp Completeinclude Leaf Tickets, Gifts from friends, and cookies.Players should use up their Leaf Tickets and other non-transferable items beforePocket Campshuts downon November 28, as after that point the tickets will become defunct.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete Release Date, Pricing, & What’s Included
While Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is closing its servers, the game itself isn’t going anywhere, with an exciting new future ahead for fans.
Since Pocket Camp Club is being discontinued, the following features will be disabled, according toNintendo.

With all these features lost fromPocket Camp, Nintendo did provide a silver lining by confirming thatsome other features from the subscription service, like camp caretaker, would be available for all players inPocket Camp Complete. The camp caretaker is a player-appointed Villager that finishes tasks for players, chats with them, and collects rewards, items, and friendship points. This is one of the best features of the Happy Helper Plan subscription, so its inclusion inPocket Camp Completeis a welcome additionthatmay even attract new players.
Another major feature ofAnimal Crossing: Pocket Campwas its online communication between friends. SincePocket Camp Completeis going offline, most of the features involving friends will no longer be available. Instead, Nintendo is introducing Camper Cards, a new feature that lets players create their own card and allows other players to register that card and bring their friend to a new place called Whistle Pass. This little area will allow players to see their friends in an Amiibo card style, as they’ll no longer be able to interact with them online.
Items That Won’t Be Sold In Pocket Camp Complete
Collaboration Events Will No Longer Be Available
WhileAnimal Crossing: Pocket Campenjoyed fun collaborations with other brands or crossovers with other Nintendo brands, players will no longer be able to get them inPocket Camp Completeif they haven’t unlocked them already.Nintendohas confirmed that the following event items will no longer be obtainable in the offline version of the game.
These event items will be sorely missed, asthey were especially cute items from beloved brands. For example, the Eevee Hood, Sanrio character backpacks and wallpapers, andMariothemed clothing items like the iconic mustache and hats. Some similar items are available inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, so players can still get their Sanrio andSuper Mariofixes in the Nintendo Switch game.
Other unique items will also be unobtainable oncePocket Campshuts down. This includesa select few Villager maps that were previously part of special events. Most other Villager maps will still be obtainable from Gulliver islands, but the ones that were in limited events will not be. The following maps will not be obtainable.
While it is sad that newer players won’t be able to collect these special items anymore, Nintendo did confirm thatany items that have already been obtained inPocket Campby older players will be keptby transferring save data toAnimal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete.Unfortunately, if players missed out in the past, thenthey’re forever locked out, but luckier players will get to keep their items.
Most Pocket Camp Features & Items Carry Over
Existing Save Data Will Transfer
Nintendo has confirmed thatplayers' save data fromPocket Campwill transfer toPocket Camp Complete. This save data includes“furniture, clothing, amenities, and terrain parts”as well as the player’s “level, animal Friendship Levels, and items such as crafting materials, bugs, fish, and so on.”This means that everything players have collected in their years of playingPocket Campwill still be onPocket Camp Complete, except for Leaf Tickets and other online-only features.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Completewill be $9.99 until June 02, 2025.
In addition to confirming that player save data would be transferred, Nintendo also quietly announced that the company would continue to add new items at some point in the future. This may not mean the same level of continued support that the mobile game has enjoyed in its seven years, but it does mean thatplayers can look forward to some amount of new content after the game goes offline. Hopefully,Pocket Camp Completewill receive more attention and updates thanNew Horizonshas on the Switch, as the last update for that major title was in late 2022. Fans ofAnimal Crossingshould also make sure they get theexclusivePocket Campitems inNew Horizonsbefore it’s too late.
Players should note that the transfer toPocket Camp Completewill not be done automatically. Anyone who playsPocket Campwill need to purchasePocket Camp Completefrom their app store first and then transfer the data. It would be best for anyAnimal Crossing:Pocket Campplayers to make sure that their save data is up-to-date, so none of their progress is lost in the move.
