Cher is Tess, a burlesque club owner, and Ali is a young woman new to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a star. The film is mostly about Tess trying to save her club and Ali navigating life in the big city, both with her job at the club and in her romantic life. As with many of her movies, Julianne Hough is a dancer.
